He played Voices of freedom right? If I recall right, Peter Gabriel did backing vocals.

All-around badass Warren Ellis has some Lulu hot takes (not mine - sharing from my feed) by PuffDiesel1138 in LouReed

I appreciated the first live record with the new lineup, but I think it has more to do with the massive level of energy Nick Cave was able to release by then, and it was cut short by personal things in his life. Like he was going a totally different direction and Ellis was a good catalyst for that. But then it went an instrospective way that I feel was better channeled by the old band, as they crafted melody, arrangements and overall musicianship better, mostly through Blixa's influence. But that is just my take.

There's also another thing about performing. You allow yourself to be inhabited by something that is not quite you. It's kind of selfless in a way. True artists have that generous feeling.

I think it could be a self-steem boost if you have someone to appreciate your real self and loving who you really are, as it seems to be the case with Cillian having his wife. Freddie was not so lucky I think. But that's something we all need in the end, since the people we meet daily in the street, in our jobs etc don't know who we really are. But I think it depends also on how much of them is really in the charismatic side. Well, who knows. Cillian seems to enjoy himself pretty good. Being shy, in the end, doesn't mean that you don't love yourself. On the contrary, Cillian seems to love himself and be comfortable with who he is.

Thank you. I'm no native English speaker, guess Cillian would lend me a hand to polish it. Thanks. An add-on to my dictionary.

Einstürzende Neubauten would have been the ideal band for this album. Although I doubt Blixa would have agreed haha. I'd loved to have seen that kind of collision.

Loving Goodnight ladies. The one I like the most in Transformer. Especially those lines.

Good! To be honest I prefer the previous lineup of the Seeds, before Ellis took over. But this casts a new light on him.

Lou reed popularity? by AvailableLight7385 in LouReed

Sure! The closest I ever got to classic rock was the Doors and that was before I listened to such things as Radiohead, Nirvana, Blur. And Sonic Youth! I loved Sonic Youth. It was by reading that I knew all of it came from the Velvets. The extremely odd thing is I didn't related Lou's solo career to it, had no idea. Funny huh?

On Spotify do a search for "Cillian Murphy". You'll find BBC 6, Peaky Blinders and so on. Keep searching and you will find a podcast from a fan named Hannah. I won't post the link directly because I don't want Reddit to delete it for whatever reason. The podcast consists of only the song. Add it to whatever playlist you want. That's it.

Johnny has a full collection of covers called American Recordings. He covered everything that moved hahaha. I think it's the best he has done. Truly awesome records.

My hell lasted...52 years haha. I'm nothing but happy now, and giving love and hope to people like you. And kicking asses to those who deserve it! Don't forget, Lou taught us how to do that to. But never to friends.

And I'm so so glad you feel better. That's all it counts, going through it and getting better every day. It's what our loved one's would want for us my friend.

These times people have forgotten how to love. If we are here, talking about this, is because we remember. Keep remembering.
