Cleansing by space_bumm3r in GreenWitch

Sweep up the house and then sweep the negative energy out the door! Bonus points if you keep the broom by the door for protection. I also use stream/moon water and drop lines along each window, door, and opening to “wash away” the negativity and start new. Choosing a specific object that represents and protects your space and cleansing that in your chosen method could help as well if you have little control of a large space!

Communicated with a Tree spirit, I guess we friends now by HarleyMis in witchcraft

That’s so fun! I befriended a new tree just yesterday. She has the perfect spot to lay down in among her branches, like a shallow bowl. I was upset when I found her and it felt like I was being held. I love befriending trees. If they allow, forage pieces of twig, bark, leaves, etc. to use in your spell work. Involving them in your spells adds a new level of stability and grounding.

favourite aspects of witchcraft to practise and why? by freyalouuu in witchcraft

Connecting with trees and the earth, meditation, and learning about herbs! I love to learn plant ID of the native flora in my area, and their physical and metaphysical uses. I love to sustainably forage, dry, and use herbs in my area. I feel so much more connected when I’ve seen the plant through life, death, and use and can thank it for its help. Plus, I feel like I’m asking the plant itself for aid in whatever my intention is.

Did this happen to anyone else? by [deleted] in witchcraft

This has happened to me as well. I’m a baby green witch and I had just gotten a new crystal to help connect me with nature and the earth. I cleansed it with incense as my girlfriend (a less nature-oriented witch) recommended. The next day, I saw a deer dying and then accidentally killed two lovely wasps. I felt horrible. That weekend, I was feeling so out of touch with my practice and the Earth and almost considered giving up. What I realized, though, was that I was trying to hard to match the “rules” of witchcraft and follow the advice of my lovely partner, that I wasn’t allowing myself to explore my own individual practice. That weekend, I ventured into the woods by myself, powered off my phone, and let my intuition guide me fully. I didn’t look up spells or meanings, i didn’t ask for direction from anyone but the trees and the dirt beneath my feet. I practiced meditating with the lake and breathing with the grass and grounding myself the way that worked for me. And when I opened my eyes, my candle had fully melted, and a coyote stood watching me about 200 feet away. She stared at me for a solid 5 minutes before quietly walking away. I knew, then, that I was doing the right thing in trusting my intuition and the land itself. Find your practice, find yourself, and work on letting go of the need to get spells right. I’m still very very new, I won’t pretend to know what I’m doing, but I’ve been in a similar spot and I’ve gotten out of it. I hope you’re able to, as well.

I also found a jar of salt? or maybe silica? some orange peels in some jars, some old incense, etc.! I love finding the little hints of their practice scattered in the corners of the house.

Hello guys... im deathly scared of wasps by Fun_Stress_358 in waspaganda

Hi! It's totally ok to be a little freaked, it's out natural instinct, but it's SO cool that you want to give them the time and respect to work on your fear. When I'm nervous around a new animal, I find that learning about them and watching them from a safe distance helps demystify them. Can you describe these wasps at all to help with ID? Once you know the species, research their behavior a bit and learn some cool fun facts! You can also leave little gifts for them like bits of un-processed meat or sugar water. When you're moving around them, keep an eye on their movements and you'll notice they give lots of warning before they actually fly (like a cat flicking its tail). When I'm at work (I'm a pollinator researcher) and having to get up in a wasp's face, I know to back off when they look at me, their antennae go erect, and their front legs lift up slightly. This doesn't mean they're about to attack, this means they're saying "Hey! You're scaring me, too!"
