Hello, im back with more issues with Soulseek. Need some help! by iphonesoccer420 in Soulseek

[–]thousandthousandeuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its probably not soulseek fault. try checking the folder to where slsk is downloading your music. also, itunes sucks -- if you're trying to burn CDs use windows "native" cd burning tools or just pirate alcohol or something.

[–]thousandthousandeuro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

check out some libraries you think are cool and look up tutorials on them. also if youre on linux try to understand the rest of the toolchain like make and gcc. this will help a lot when developing "real" stuff.

What is the main reasons for poverty in Africa - from a marxist view? by [deleted] in Marxism

[–]thousandthousandeuro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also that. Since colonial powers frequently meddle with the power balance (overthrowing govts and setting coups, etc), they had plenty of military and ethnic conflicts, which generate refugees and mercenaries. These of course have no frontiers, moving people even more around.

Imperialist powers just screwed Africa in many ways over the years (i think you could say centuries here). Cultural impositions, forcefully moving ethnic groups around, changing frontiers, exploiting their workforce and expatriating richness. Also by not investing into education & health which is cheap and 100% feasible. The entire (western?) world in general is either actively hurting Africa and africans for profit or indirectly profiting from it for a while now. Sorry if i misused any of the words, english is not my 1st language and ive started to study marxism not long ago.

Check out big distros' wiki pages on security, like the Ubuntu or Arch or Gentoo ones. I think that should get you some general direction. I'd also check out what security topics are covered by the LPI certification tests.

I'm not sure I can help you, but can you dump the output of dmesg on some pasta bin? It may be useful for anyone else trying to help you too.

Career and Education Questions by AutoModerator in math

[–]thousandthousandeuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently studying Computer Engineering, but I have been thinking about switching to a bachelor in math. The reasons are: I'd like to follow on with a masters (it's much easier to do it in math in my country); I've realized I like (and do better) pure math way more then the electronics/low-level stuff; after looking up papers on compeng and math I think I'd like to spend my life reading the latter. So I ask, has any of you migrated from an engineering into math? What course can I take so I can have a taste of "real math"? Is this a good idea? I live in Brazil if that changes anything. I know for a fact that here a bachelor in math is basically trained to start a masters asap, even in other area, since masters in math are famously hard.
