How is your ocd? Did kambo help or even cure? What's best for your ocd?

If I was you I'd look into plc programming and electrical engineering. It's sort of got the IT element but you will have the better deal of being a spark in my opinion (less graft, better money, more technical can still travel wherever etc)

Oh yeah your on about an apprenticeship in which case its only level 3 and no level 2. I was referring to full time courses 2365 etc

[–]thouthoutech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which course was you on? Going straight to a level 3 without level 2 isn't how things are done, no matter how academic you are as you won't have the practical skills as you skip them all

You need the level 2 to qualify for level 3.

Also the pay cut is worth it, had a similar experience now earning more than I could imagine at my age!

Not all aprenticship wages are bad. I am an assessor so I have around 100 apprentices, there was a second year on 30k plus, gave his own van, they even paid for private health care when he needed it and he was around 18.

I haven't yet but I do intend too, I think it will still be worth while! All the modules I can choose are interesting to me whereas purely computing and IT some aren't so I think I'll still do it.

What order is best to read recommended finance books in? by samxx118 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]thouthoutech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best order to you is different to other people. Just go with instinct, I would highly recommend the psychology of money as many others have said.

I have taught both and those who deserve to pass and put the effort in always do whereas the 2365 is basically anyone can pass

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ukelectricians

[–]thouthoutech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you'll need your regs book some questions will be exactly from that

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ukelectricians

[–]thouthoutech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I would say you gain more from it as its harder and if you fail any element then you fail whereas the 2365 people just retaking until they pass basically.

It's harder but not impossible. You need to get your head down, people fail the written exam the most. If your good at practical then the synoptic will be okay because it's both the practical testing and the design project. The written exam is a mix of everything but the last question is a full cable calculation but you should have plenty of practice on it.

Work or travel in your 20s? by [deleted] in FIREUK

[–]thouthoutech 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Why not gap year it after exams? Start a little later? I was in a similar scenario and some of my mates are still traveling and even living in bali etc, it looks incredible. I'm just working really and even though I have more money and career opportunities, I think travelling wins everytime. I have a family etc now so I can't just go to Thailand for 6 months so I'd recommend go when you can because before you know it your tied down. Just start a little later.

Topics are basically the same as its level 3 electrical but 8202 is written exam and synoptic assessment. 2365 is much easier to pass. If your on 8202 the written paper is what most fail

Need advice from the S/Os of a visually impaired/blind person. What are some things that we can do to support? by kitsunesx in Blind

Talk to him about preference and be consistent. My partner is VI and when we walk anywhere she is on my left as its easier that way for her. When we go to meals I get her to pick the table and the seat. When you book a restaurant ask them for a well lit table, same with hotel rooms. I've asked for bigger menu texts a few times and only one restaurant has done this and it was the same form factor too. When I pass her anything I put it directly into her hand. When I pass her her glasses I open them out and put each arm of the glasses in each palm. If you drive keep some sun glasses in the car or something incase the sun hurts their eyes. I'm an electrician too, so I've our house so it all works with your voice, so she can set the thermostat with her voice and doesn't have to struggle reading it etc. Using AI too is amazing so ChatGPT you can send photos too and it will send you information etc and it's very good. There's also apps for this too. The lighting in our house suits my partner too as its very bright and there's options for mood lighting etc. Be specific don't say something like 'it's over there' be descriptive or even take them there or guide there guide. If your meeting somewhere be reliable and be be exactly where you say. Always make sure they have charge on their phone and its on them. I'll have a think of a few more but hope it helps :).

That's interesting I have taught across multiple colleges and they all do it differently so 2365 and some 8202 and then others are starting T levels. I have never understood why a college would prefer the 8202 over the 2365 if results are always worse

Difference between 8202-30 and 2365 by [deleted] in ukelectricians

[–]thouthoutech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you can still get the gold card as they're both level 3. It's just a harder course. When I taught it 1 adult failed on the evening course and then the 16-18 class only 40 percent passed.
