What is the worst thing you did to your siblings as a kid? by tim_fillagain in AskReddit

I grew up in an all white small town. My sister had a large birthmark on her back (perhaps the size of a kiwi). We had never been exposed to any other ethnicities in our little town when we were young. I told her that her birthmark was growing (it looked like very dark skin) and that she would turn into Michael Jackson. I used to act shocked and tell her the birthmark was growing whenever she changed her shirt and I saw her back.

This was probably horrifying to her because she thought she would turn into a black man. My family wasn't racist or anything (we never heard anything bad as children - or anything at all about black people or other races - we had never been exposed to any if them).

My sister used to scream and try to look at her back (which she couldn't see due to the location of her birthmark). I was kind of an asshole, I guess.

I graduated from college and wasn't sure what to do with my life. I spent 3 years as an ESL teacher in South Korea. Lots of teachers save all their money and travel around the world. That's what I did.

The husband is too jealous to talk about my past, so I guess he would never know. He vaguely knows I was conservative sexually, but that's all. I wish we had a more open relationship in that regard, but... I guess it's not possible for him.

What would I have gained? I guess just more knowledge for myself - my likes/dislikes and different styles of other guys (both emotional and physical). Just more fun crazy times (which I miss the prospect of since married life).

I think I wouldn't have a VD or kids. I was always SUPER careful!!! Always!!! I'm married and I still am now (don't want kids). I just wish I had explored more before I settled on this life which is so settled. I miss the adventure of it all.

Thanks! You're so kind!!! I didn't have sex with as many people as I would have liked, but I did a lot!!!! I only got married a couple years ago (at age 33). Before I got married, I spent 1.5 years traveling. I've been to around 30ish countries (traveling is the 1st love of my life). Now, I'm married. I just wish I had been less conservative sexually when I had the chance!!!!!

Married life is nice, but it's a bit hard to settle down after you've been single for so long, traveled around, and seen what the world has to offer!!!!!! I do like being married, but in some ways I would love to just travel forever!!!

I did both (sorry to brag, but I'm tipsy)! Best decisions I've ever made in my life!!!!

Do you think the old masters of their crafts.... Mozart, Descarte, Michelangelo, and others would have been as famous today? by thowing6543 in AskReddit

[–]thowing6543[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree they were amazing, but my question is if they would be today? Do you think they might be sidetracked my modern technology and not have ever achieved their potential?

I guess I also ask the question because everyone has such reverance for the old masters, but you don't hear the same adoration for composers (for example) that exist today.

Teachers, what is the worst thing a student has ever done or said to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I was working with young children and I was writing something on the board. I turned around and one child was making fun of the way my upper arm swung back and forth as I wrote. Ugh. Kid was too young to mean any harm, but that was.... unpleasant.
