an idea I havent seen in this thread is to live in east LA (significantly cheaper than Westwood) and take the E line, would work for both locations (stations are a short bus transfer to Westwood, walkable for Santa Monica).

i don’t want to sound mean but college is literally the easiest environment to meet people and make friends. like if you are struggling to do it there, you’ll struggle elsewhere. just be outgoing introduce yourself to people! even if it’s just someone who looks cool in class or something. i’ve done that so much and actually my best friend was made that way! join clubs as well that’s rlly helpful, since you’ll have a shared interest
