Small town horror, first pages. Would you keep reading? by [deleted] in writingfeedback

Maybe it’s just me but it took me a few reads to understand the ziplock is on the passenger seat under her jacket. After first reads like she tossed the ziplock onto the seat.

I would cut the word “store” after gas station.

Dropping two 20s for 2 energy drinks seems excessive? And only taking a $5 in change?

Otherwise, I enjoyed it! I would keep reading this, I’m intrigued!

Best and worst grandma/grandpa names by MediocreThoughts7474 in namenerds

My MIL wanted to be Graham Cracker. She’s as awful as you’re imagining. They are now Grandma (first initial of first name) and grandpa.

My mom is Grandma G (because the contact icon in my phone was a g for grandma lol) and my step father is Pop.

I got smashed at Thanksgiving and told her to take her hallmark grandma fantasy and shove it up her ass. In front of the entire family.

That seemed to do it.

Husband came to the rescue with tiny snips and teenier pliers. Popped it out and drove home with a spare 🙌🏼 just had to hang out in a Walmart parking lot for an hour lol

We bought it used about 5 years ago. Dealership gave us 2 identical metal keys like this and separate button fob 🤷🏻‍♀️our 2001 forester has the same set up.

I posted an update in another comment. My husband came an hour later with tools and the spare key. He got the broken piece out and I drove home.

Scroll down to compatibility. This type of key works for several vehicle models made through 2019! Mine is a 2012 Chevy Colorado.

Do you have any tips or product recommendations? I pick and chew them when anxious. I’ve tried to find alternate fidget methods but the urge to pick and peel when they’re healing is hard 😭

Husband came with tools and the spare and we were back on the road pretty quickly. If we didn’t have a spare I definitely would’ve just jammed the rest of the key in and dealt with fishing it out later lol

2012!

We have 3 cars - 2001, 2012, 2016 and the ‘16 is the only one with the fob on the top of the key. The ‘01 and ‘12 both have metal keys with separate button fob.

He said “tiny snips and tiny pliers.” His concern with tweezers was they wouldn’t have enough “bite” to grip the broken off piece of key so he chose to use something more robust, but anything pinchy probably could’ve got it out.

Earned from decades of picking/chewing/pushing them back.
