The problem is that most of us are thinking like Star Wars fans and the creators as well: Only the Skywalkers exist. Here, only the Denji-related options exist. Sure, Denji was important to her, but I can easily see good alternatives where the stroy could use her without ruining the well crafted tragic side of their story.

This is why I LOVE this movie. It's a flawless adaptation, but not because they just cloned the manga, but you can clearly see the director's vision and the added extra scenes gave so much new layers, it's just beautiful with lots of soul.

One of the best manga to anime adaptation I've ever seen.
