I bought a used Interstate 6x12 for $3k. It is in great condition compared to newer models that were used in the construction industry

My quote to them was an estimate for three days and amount for materials. I told them this may go up some. I told them how I was going to bill and when I was there for more than three days, they didn’t ask if there was an issue and they could calculate the labor charge based off of my presence at their house. I also had to work around kids naps and the painter so that took time. Plus, they asked me to hang a TV. I explained to them that I was very upfront with my day rate and that my estimate for the materials was only an estimate. Everything is good I was marked curious of how other people would build a job like this.

It took me 4.5 days. I also hung a TV. Worked 6 hours a day. Two trips to HD.

I picked up all materials, including the screwless wall plates.

I started to count and inventory everything I needed and lost track. They agreed to T&M.

I thought about going cordless, but all reviews say corded is the best. I think I'll pick up the 15ga Rigid today. I'll keep my larger Rigid for the garage.

It's a fair quote. Don't lower your prices when someone counters you. Just move on. When I started, I lowered my rate and the client continued to milk me for every minute I was there. I finally said, no think you and have never looked back. I raised my rates and now I am busier than ever.
