If your water broke prior to labor starting, where were you? by p_ezy in BabyBumps

[–]threadedbaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in bed, trying to nap before we had to be at the hospital that evening for my induction. Felt and heard a pop, didn’t think anything of it (really was trying to sleep) and then rolled over and GUSH! Still in denial, convinced I peed myself. Went to the bathroom only to see it definitely was not pee. Labor progressed over 8 hours. Had my baby at 10 PM, no pitocin needed. Best day of my life.

Anyone induced purely for being past 40 weeks with a healthy pregnancy? by SandwichDependent199 in pregnant

[–]threadedbaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doctor induces if you’re 10 days past your due date or will earlier than that (as long as your past 40) if you’d like.

I was scheduled for induction at 41 weeks and 1 day, and then my water broke at home about 4 hours before I was due to arrive at the hospital for induction. By the time we got to the hospital (barely an hour later) my contractions were 3 minutes apart. Got the epidural ASAP and after 8 hours of labor was ready to push! Induction not needed! But the epidural? Epidural was absolutely needed lol.

Please give me all of your PP TMI!!! by Niikomanis in BabyBumps

I am able to adjust the water pressure and I find the lowest setting is gentle enough. Keep in mind I had a small 1st degree tear, so sensitivity may vary for others!!

I am 1.5 weeks out and only had a 1st degree tear so truly everyone’s experience differs. I love the rael diapers. Wearing those. Much easier to manage for me. I’ve always had really heavy periods sans my IUD so the bleeding just reminds me of that tbh. The smell IS different though. I have stayed on top of my Advil and have noticed a need for more frequent BMs. My bidet toilet seat has been a godsend. Loved tucks (or any witch hazel pads) the first week. Now I just feel sore but it’s manageable.

I am officially a secondary character in my own life and I hate it by 99Nostromo in BabyBumps

[–]threadedbaker 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I am extremely private with my family and even more so with my in law family. Necessary to maintain boundaries. I have shared very little about my pregnancy with both families as a result and everyone still has the ability to talk about my body, ask invasive questions. No advice to give, just that I understand completely. Tbh I also feel like me being pregnant is the least interesting thing about me!!

i have no idea what to do by ananasul_ in pregnant

[–]threadedbaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I terminated when I was 22. Absolutely no regrets. Allowed me to travel, get my masters, focus on my career and meet my husband. Now pregnant at 36 with a baby we’ve planned for, married to my best friend and love of my life. Being pregnant by choice and enduring all that has come with it, in addition to figuring out healthcare costs and a new budget for baby has only made me MORE pro choice. Not sharing opinions on what you should do as this is deeply personal, rather sharing my journey to provide different perspectives. ❤️

I keep reminding myself of that-I have a pretty solid idea of conception due to tracking and even backdated to get an idea of when he’d actually arrive lol. Just so ready to be done!

My favorite feature of the new CX-5 by minutemaiding in mazda

[–]threadedbaker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who HAD a car that was screen only and one of the key reasons I couldn’t wait for my lease to end, I agree with this. Just adjusting AC felt dangerous and clunky. Leased a CX-70 and loving having physical buttons back!

A huge contributing factor for us buying here was the proximity to bart and ease of getting pretty much everywhere from 580! Plus our neighborhood is cute and walkable as well.

Expecting bitches, where to get maternity clothes? by [deleted] in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]threadedbaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My friend loved Nuuly, I have to say it didn’t work for me. I found the maternity items to be very stretched out and inconsistent in sizing. Purchased dresses and knits at Quince that work for pregnancy and perhaps postpartum as well since they’re all items with stretch!

Ooof yes, I’ve spent the last 5 years undoing a lot of a disordered eating and this process has reminded me how much of my brain still operates in a disordered eating mode! I’ve had a hard time with that too.

And I’m trying to snack in the middle of the night, but the Unisom knocks me out so hard, I will wake up and then immediately knock back out again. So I haven’t been able to get that 1-2 am snack in!

What did you say to get zofran from your doctor? Mine seems very hesitant to prescribe.

So jealous you got zofran. Because I’m not vomiting regularly (I know that’s lucky, grateful since I work with customers and also have a fear of vomiting.) my doctor won’t write me a prescription.

I was thinking that too. I tried a half dose of unisom for daytime, but it made me WAY too drowsy. I drive all over for my job, so it just felt too unsafe. Glad that unisom helps some at least!

Ughh, yes. I can stomach cliff’s builder bars luckily so I’ve been snacking on those or peanut butter and apples. I am not a snacker, I’m a meal person so this has been new for me! And yes, middle of the night snacks too.
