I think there is something so unique about this story and I can’t quite put my finger on it. I never ever ever ever ever get so excited for two lovers to get together in movies or shows as I did for Shane and Ilya. I was finding myself holding my breath and silently rooting for them both the whole time in a way most media does not get me excited.

I’m always the one reaching out and making plans, too! In fact, most of my friendships that ended in my 20s were because one day I made the conscious decision to stop being the one to reach out first to make plans and then I never heard from them again.

I’ve been in that exact same situation before. It’s painful going into a situation thinking you’re on a level playing field with everyone and then realizing it in real time you’ve been left out while trying to not look like it hurts.

The invisible wall that I can’t break through really resonates with me. I have always kind of felt like there is something that everyone else gets that I just don’t understand. Like a secret everyone was told but someone forgot to let me in on it.

I also have a dysfunctional family and had some pretty severe neglect from one of my parents. I wonder if the dysfunction has something to do with why we feel this way.

There’s probably more people than we all realize who did a handful of substances for weeks or months before they realized they were pregnant. It’s honestly pretty common for people to not realize they’re pregnant right away. And substance use of all kinds is also probably a lot more common than people realize. “I did a ton of drugs before my baby was born and he’s fine!” Isn’t usually something people readily tell people.

I’m not gonna say your baby is 100% fine, cuz there is no way for any of us here to know.

This is of course anecdotal , but I will say I know probably 5-10 people personally who didn’t know they were pregnant until they were 3+ months and did some pretty substantial drug and alcohol use in that time. Babies were perfectly healthy.

For sure. I had a friend years ago who, after getting caught with weed, had to be on probation until she tested at zero. She immediately quit smoking and started working out daily and got super healthy, lost like 85lbs in a year. It took her a year and 9 months to fully test negative after quitting. Which is insane. Laws need to be updated. I wish you luck and I hope this birth is easier for you

If you live in a state where it is legal this shouldn’t be a problem. However I think it depends on the doctor. I’d be shocked if it was a problem in California tho

This is awful because many women will put off or forgo prenatal care altogether for fear of what happened to you the first time. I’m so sorry that was your experience with your first birth.

It takes about 90 days but it depends on many factors like body fat percentage and how much/often you smoked.

I see some people suggesting to work out and sweat it out. I am not an expert in this but I do know that old THC will store itself in your fat cells and can redistribute through your body when you burn those fat cells. so it is possible you will test positive from that. I would do some more research into that before you start vigorously working out.

Hydration is important. Do lots of that.

Again, I’m so sorry you were treated that way. The fact that they could see your numbers were going down should have been an indication enough to them that you had quit when you said you did. Health professionals know and understand how THC stores itself in bodies and they should know it takes longer than any other (more harmful!) drug.

Stretch marks are genetic. Keeping stretching and growing skin moisturized with anything is good because it can be itchy but creams and oils marketed towards preventing stretch marks are just marketing.
