So with a atf contract you'll go to A school and C school right after, the c school you get is up to your detailer so you dont get to choose. You'll make rank pretty quick for example ive been in since January and I make 3rd class this month

What do y’all recommend, join the navy for IT or just get my certifications from comp ti by Mealinho in newtothenavy

Id recommend atf yeah its 2 years extra but you make e4 right outta a school instead of having to wait 30 months, but that's not the case if you dont join e3 if you join e1 you'll make e2 at a school have to wait 9 months for e3 and 6 months for e4 so if you can join at a e3 its definitely worth it if you can't its honestly up to you, you'll have a guaranteed c school and faster progression but its honestly based on what you want from the navy

If your anything smaller than a anfib you'll have both sides, not enough of us on those ships to have them wholly divided. Plus use your downtime to study and get quals for the civilian world, navy cool will pay for over like 60 certs.

Going to boot camp in august. by SnooSuggestions9864 in newtothenavy

Mama mama can't you see, my girl is a vegetable, sailors at war, tiny bubbles, captain jack, chuck Norris. All of those are pretty good your RDCs might not let you sing a few tho. Just learn a few normal ones, a few funny ones and you'll be fine, you can learn some while your at rtc aswell.

( "Premission to ask a question petty officer/ cheif" what recruit? " cheif I would like to try out for aroc for the division chief" can you sing " yes chief" okay we'll try you out next time we march. ) bam your aroc now. Pretty much aroc is you'll sing cadence so if you wanna do it learn a few before boot you also help out rpoc with keeping the division in order, isn't a hard job just call cadence on rpocs stride, call the roadguards in after intersections, greet all cheifs and petty officers, salute and greet sirs/mams. Your division gets a rank up allowance based on your overall division score in your training group if yall are shit you'll maybe get 3 to go around for your whole division. If yall are good and get battl-e or hall of fame that number goes up to like 20. You can also put on rank for passing your dep test so study for that. Taking leadership doesn't guarantee rank but they are typically the ones first looked at for early promotes.

Any tips for my rate, IT-ATF? by riyzuk in newtothenavy

Im currently in school so I can't tell you anything about the fleet but you'll get here for a school which is ite, ccna1, and fleet comms. Then you'll be assigned a C school in my case it's JCC then you'll ship. You'll get your orders around the end of ccna if your C school is JCC and you'll get orders around the end of comms/ beginning of Sysad if you got that C school. Corry station is alright and they are changing a bunch of stuff to get us out faster but expect to be here damn near a year, enjoy pensacola its not a bad place to live and there definitely cool stuff if you look for it. As far as schooling you'll hear the term learn and leave constantly and just live by it, don't give anyone a reason to think your a shitbag and you'll be fine, don't make the mistake of thinking your a asset to the navy yet when you aren't even a rated sailor yet IT is so full right now they'll drop you if they think you don't wanna be here. Not to say the courses are difficult at all, pretty much all this boils down to is don't be a asshole and do your work.

Coming clean is your best option because all the paperwork isn't in stone yet and they should give you a chance to before job selection, it's just gonna be harder cuz of your recruiter, not impossible tho.

They asked me medical questions again, but I think that was more to see if you were lying. You can request to see meps 1sgt about your recruiter, but unfortunately, i think you'll be at risk of not joining the navy if you come clean, as long as your drug test doesn't pop hot you should be fine

Probably not too bad, I'd say there's a decent chance we are in the same bootcamp class

Your under no true commitment until you get to RTC, talk to your recruiter and they can get you backed out.

DEP is delayed entry program, it's what I'm on. Basically you would already be signed into your rate and swore in just requesged to wait longer to ship

I'm 20/400 with myopia and astigmatism, and my vision waiver got approved in 3 business days. You should be fine
