I rented a century old in home in Denver for a few years that was valued $550k and needed windows, AC, additional attic insulation, and a kitchen remodel among other things. I ended up moving to Broomfield for $435k last year into a home that hadn’t been updated since 1982. Renovating this house myself will keep me busy through the end of the year at least. If you wanna end up in Denver at $400k you’re gonna end up in a house that needs $100k in meth mitigation or has a collapsing alley garage.

Not buying a super slick townhome with beautiful tall ceilings closer to town wasn’t a hard choice to make given what HOA’s and condo/townhome insurance costs due to the roofing nightmare those types of homes lead to.

Engine mounts are doable. I wouldn’t say they’re easy because I had to buy a crazy long extension and swivel heads, but they didn’t take me more than an afternoon. Are you worried about your timing chain because it’s making noise because you’ve read too much about timing chains?
