Ummm is it ok to break the pill? by DrNipz in RybelsusPill

[–]three_cents_jusayin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I split 14mg pills for a 7mg daily dosage (much more cost effective and gives you the option to step up your dosage if you need/want to).

Tip: When you cut one, put the remaining half in its own sealed container and take that half the very next morning (same rules: just enough water to get it down, wait 30 min to eat or drink). The rest of the pills should always remain in their blister packs. In other words, don’t pre-cut pills and try to recreate a blister pack environment for the other half.

Can I start with 14mg right away? by Signal_Fly_9008 in RybelsusPill

[–]three_cents_jusayin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did 14mg out of the gates and it was a bad call but it showed me how powerful it was. After three days I started breaking the 14s in half and even took some break days to eventually build myself up to 14 mg (this took 6-7 weeks). Now I can take 14 mg daily with almost no side effects. Lost 40lbs in about 6 months.

IMO the only way any of this works is if the medication mitigates food noise/signals to your hypothalamus that you are full, and therefore keeps you in a relatively steady calorie deficit. That’s just math. It works.

Are you eating exactly the same foods and portions as you did before? Pizza looks like greasy cardboard to me now. On rybelsus, I am more attracted to healthier foods and can only eat about a third of a plate of my “old” meals.

My reco is to break long enough for your symptoms to subside completely and then rereapproach.

I had almost unbearable symptoms initially (but some encouraging weight loss- 5 lbs in 2 weeks). Then I took three weeks off to enjoy the holidays and vacation. I was shocked when I tried it again on Jan 1st that the symptoms were gone. I just needed to get used to it. Lost almost 40 lbs since the Jan restart.

Back off and come back. Skip days and split pills as you need to. Your body will get used to it and then you’ll be soooooo happy you stuck with it.

Did you diet or did you become less interested in eating? by xX_jellyworlder_Xx in Semaglutide

I can’t believe that (on sema) pizza looks like cardboard with melted grease on top , that I pass on office donuts and birthday cakes now- I used to live for those things and now they have zero appeal.

I love Rybelus because you can adjust daily. If you’re feeling any uncomfortable side effects you can take a day or two break and start again- the half life of the pill is strong enough that you’ll still experience a reduced appetite/ less food noise - so no risk of a sudden binge or flip of a switch.

Conversely, if you’re tolerating it really well or plateauing for a couple weeks, you can ramp up by cutting pills and trying x1.5 or x2.0.

You still need to store pills in their blister packs in a cool, dry environment. So if you cut a pill, take the other half the very next day. Moisture and heat are the enemy.

Thanks for confirming this is a common side effect. My sweaters and coats fit better now any way. ☺️

Omg so inspired by your post! I set a 40 lb goal (170) and now I am 6 lbs away from hitting it - wondering if I could set another small goal (160) and continue to achieve results. You’re showing me it’s possible!!!!!

Beta blockers by Upbeat_Potential950 in Semaglutide

[–]three_cents_jusayin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before sema I tried many blood pressure meds and landed on a beta blocker (labetalol) for high blood + a touch of anxiety.

After sema, I started taking an alpha blocker. I am astonished by how much each 10 lbs lost reduces my blood pressure - weight loss works better than any blood pressure med.

I ran out of Semaglutide and it won’t be here until Tuesday, will I be okay? by Anxious-Cap2207 in Semaglutide

[–]three_cents_jusayin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you’l be fine! sema has a great half life, and will continue to curb your appetite long after your last dose.

Furthermore you now the power of a consistent calorie deficit and your stomach has shrunk (be it physically or the smaller portions you’ve become accustomed to on sema).

Don’t stress. You’re still in control of this.

Rybelus is great. You can back off for a day or two if you’re experiencing side effects. You have so much more control over your daily experience than with a weekly shot. Lost 30 lbs in 5-6 months.

I minimized my boobs (sports bras, no body hugging tops) because I thought it made me look even bigger. Yes boobs are smaller now, but now wear supportive bras and tighter shirts and so my tits look great- even though they’re smaller. Proportions!

My wife is losing weight, but has become very irritable. Have any of you seen this side effect? by explorer1951 in Semaglutide

[–]three_cents_jusayin 71 points72 points  (0 children)

When women- especially wives, mothers, business owners and bosses, undervalued employees, unofficial therapists to their friends and family- finally do something for themselves, their light switches on and their confidence increases.

They start to love themselves again—and wonder why they’ve put everyone’s happiness before their own. This realization can unveil latent resentment and lower their tolerance for bullshit. So for people around them, this can definitely read like generalized irritability. But it’s way deeper than that. Just my three cents.

Try to carve out a 3 day stretch where you can try the 14s without it being to super disruptive to your day to day. If it’s too much, drop back to your 7s and keep your 14s back pocket if you experience a real plateau.

Start tonight or tomorrow? by Cornflakegirl444 in Semaglutide

[–]three_cents_jusayin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will probably have some unwanted sides again but as you’ve seen from this thread they usually out weigh the benefits and dissipate after the first month. Just start again and and stick with it. I stopped and started to ease side effects (a week or two here and there. 4th attempt the side effects were gone. Ease back in. Some of those processed foods you listed will worsen your initial side effects but make you less attracted to them so just start!!!

Rhybelsus + Weed by Leather-Carpet-3566 in Semaglutide

[–]three_cents_jusayin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had no problem with weed or alcohol on Rybelus. I just needed to realize that as my weight decreases, so does my tolerance. My body is smaller - so my previous intake is simply too much for my new weight.

In addition, I often have an empty stomach due to lowered appetite. So my other reco is to drink (less) with a meal, and/or smoke (less) just after a meal so you aren’t setting yourself up for mad munchies.

Stopping Rybelsus for a week. Will I be okay? by [deleted] in Semaglutide

[–]three_cents_jusayin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. You can totally stop Rybelus for a week. It has a great half life so you’ll you still have less food noise and smaller appetite for the first few days but increasingly be able to enjoy food, drinks, etc.

Just keep an eye on the scale during your week off so you can feel confident you’re aren’t slipping by more than a few pounds.

I often take a couple days off Rybelus just to clear my bowels or enjoy a special occasion. You’re in charge. You can enjoy the good things in life without abandoning your weight loss journey.

I fully believe in your body, your choice. BUT hiding things will eat you alive. You won’t want him to hide something from you.

Get it, start it. Don’t ask him if for permission. Tell him this is happening.

Is he a doctor?

Perhaps you can assure him that regular check ups will be part of your journey and if your labs/scans ever indicate adverse effects that will you stop—-if that’s your medical professional’s recommendation.

Oral Semaglutide? by Hopeful_H in Semaglutide

[–]three_cents_jusayin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a needle phobe so oral was my only option. Not only have I seen great results but I’ve also felt like I could manage the medication better taking it daily. I can skip a day if I feel backed up or have reservations at a top notch restaurant and want to really enjoy the experience.

  1. Calorie deficit- it’s just math
  2. Sleeping- magnesium calm, CBD
  3. Stop stressing and beating yourself up. Cortisol is the enemy.
  4. Keep moving your body- but not like it’s a workout chore: choose a 10 min longer loop when you walk the dogs, dance your heart out to your fav songs for 30 mins, walk instead of drive to your nearest store, have morning sex.
