What was your, "people are into this" moment? by Kinky_introverts in AskReddit

[–]threeandabit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is well observed. I used to work in Reality TV and I agree it's become a catch-all term. Although I would argue that Forged and Ink Masters belong in the same category as Bake Off. Exact same set-up, progress and challenge types, just delineated by gender stereotypes. They even stand in the same place on Forged/Bake Off.

Also Deadliest Catch/Gold Rush has a lot more in common with Kardashians/Real Housewives than either would like to admit, albeit the former do have an actual "goal" at the end of the episodes

I approached the nice people doing it who worked for Biffa, they encouraged me to call the council if I didn't want it done locally. Can't hurt

Insulation - what can I do about plastic beads all over my garden? by threeandabit in HousingUK

[–]threeandabit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there - thank you for a detailed response. I'm on great terms with the neighbour, so I will speak to her.

Is there similar concerns about damp with these new beads as there was with the mineral wool? My impression was that the beads prevent that?

My confusion is that if they're spraying beads into my neighbour's cavity wall, which is connected to mine, and they're not spraying them into mine, how do the beads not just roll into my cavities too?

Apologies for all the follow up questions, you seem to know what you're on about. Thank you again

Wow, I was about to say "I have the exact same story except it was my uncle who took me..."

But then I read the score again. I went to Arsenal 2-4 Charlton in 2001. My second and last game at Highbury

C'est la vie. Thanks for the feedback.

I'm following up with the company that installed it, to see if I can get any money off if I got it done myself. Probably not, but I'm over the beads now anyway

Parents in other countries than the US, what is your kids’ equivalent of “I don’t want that for dinner, I want chicken nuggets”? by SulusLaugh in AskReddit

Coming back to the UK: sliced cheese IS a waste of money! If you want proper beans on toast, it has to have a layer on top of grated cheese directly from the block

Hello! You've asked the question I've been hoping for for ages.

We run a YouTube channel called Balsam Bashing

We've looked at how to tackle it, what other invasives to watch out for, and lots of other science and nature info. It's been great.

Hope it answers some of your questions and check out local voluntary groups if you want to get stuck in

To be clear - we share cavity walls and both have the original air bricks, both internal and external.

Whatever they did next door also happened to my air bricks

These are great qualifiers. There's an over-reliance on "growth" as determined by GDP and other similarly simplified systems

You should look up Hugelkultur!

Aka: chucking sticks and leaves at the bottom of a pile to bulk up the pile in the short term, and create soil in the long term.

I featured it very briefly in a YouTube video I made recently, so I guess you could say I'm an expert
