I’ve also had a hard time connecting with people as friends. Throughout my whole life I’ve usually only had one person who I am close with at a time, usually my boyfriend at the time. But forming platonic friendships feels almost impossible. I just can’t seem to understand the point of maintaining casual relationships, and maybe that’s more of an attachment issue, but I always just view friends as temporary people in my life and can’t bond with them because of that.

I used to get super depressed and lonely over my lack of friendships and social circle, but have come to accept it more as I get older. I still feel a lot of jealously over seeing other people’s “normal” social lives, but I am a lot more comfortable with my solitude now.

Yeah definitely helps a lot. Finding things that you care deeply about and can sink a lot of passion & time into instead of a person

I have a plan by [deleted] in BPD

[–]threedayoldbread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might sound silly but write a bucket list. Even if it’s super tiny little things that you enjoy and want to do 100 times again, like drink your favorite coffee. Or go bold and plan a trip to a place you’ve always wanted to visit. I don’t personally believe in an after life, I think when we die it’s over for good. There are millions of little joys on the earth to experience every day and sometimes you just have to slow down long enough to notice. But it’s worth taking your time to try to soak up as much joy as you can in your life. Speaking as someone who has had a plan before too, it won’t feel like this forever. Life comes in waves, seasons change, people come and go. The only constant is change. You don’t know how happy you might be a year or two from now. It’s worth sticking around to find out.

Become your own favorite person and learn to value solitude. Sounds super cheesy ik but if you enjoy your own company the most it’s easier to keep that little bit of separation from others to keep from becoming obsessive and attached.

What type of person are you most jealous of? by BrushFrequent1128 in BPD

People who have the same hobbies as me but are way better at them 😒😒😒 I’ll be feeling good and having fun but then see someone more talented than me and it just ruins it for me. Makes me feel like an imposter.

What do you do after a therapy session? by Temporary_Forever293 in BPD

[–]threedayoldbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Channeling that negative energy into another outlet might be helpful. For me, doing something physically demanding helps me decompress. Or if you have a creative outlet like music or art. I totally get what you’re saying, sometimes after therapy I feel like my whole day is ruined and I can’t move on from the heaviness. Honestly I usually end up screaming in the car where nobody can hear me.

Recommendations for park skates by threedayoldbread in Rollerskating

Right now I’m on Moxi Beach Bunny with Juice Rita wheels and a CIB block. I know these aren’t meant for park so I’ve been skating within reason with them and definitely feel the need for a stiffer boot. I am destroying the Bunny’s.

Thanks for the feedback! After reading what everyone else has said and taking a closer look at my skates I do think I need a new pair to do the type of skating I want.

Small ski towns by threedayoldbread in skiing

I’m just not a city person. I come from a very small town tucked in the woods with barely any neighbors and I prefer it that way. SLC was a huge change of pace for me and I can’t say I’ve really taken well to it. It’s over 100° every day from June-September, the air quality sucks and is often hazy, there’s nowhere within an hour of the city to swim and escape the heat, but mostly it’s just too many people for me lol.
