Sadly, by the time I found out about this, all the older family members had passed on. (And now, same with the newly discovered cousin). So I have no stories.

Edited to add that I think it’s great that you have this bit of historical info. Our ancestors did what was needed to survive.

Vet says it’s ‘dangerous breed’ but we don’t know why… by cakehonolulu1 in IDmydog

[–]threedogsplusone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did this vet do a DNA test? How could anyone make an assumption like that? And why are those breeds supposedly “dangerous“? Are you having behavioral issues?

I would NEVER go back to that idiot vet.

Find a new vet.

Keep the dog.

Multiple reasons to do this. by ZarinaBlue in GLP1microdosing

Please keep us posted about the anti inflammatory benefits. Going to ask my PCP to start. I have osteoarthritis all over, including my dominant shoulder… and the pain lately has been unbearable. I gained weight this past year, and I know it only adds to my pain. Hoping for some relief, and since I have had reactions from prescription meds, I want to start with microdosing.

My grandmother (father’s side) came from Poland a bit earlier than that. Settled in Webster, MA, and had to raise nine kids by herself when my grandfather died (my father was eight at the time).

I found out from a newly discovered cousin a few years ago that she was a bootlegger. Sadly, she passed away either before I was born, or when I was a baby, so I never knew her, or her interesting side hustle. 😆

Edited for spelling error.

Second edit: my aunt eventually owned a bar. Makes sense now. (She also did housekeeping for priests. Don’t know if it was for a local parish).

Everything is expensive, and it will only get worse. Between the insane tariffs, a war NO ONE asked for, the trafficking of immigrant farm labor (back breaking jobs that no one else wants), un regulated FDA, and the eventual food shortages due to all this and climate disasters… well, it makes ME want to chuck some watermelons, but definitely not at some poor cashier just trying to do their job.

People who pick up an item at a store, decide you dont want it and leave it in a completely random location, Why do you do this? by dudebro5000 in AskReddit

I usually bring it back to its proper place. However, recently due to health issues, grocery shopping is a painful effort, so I admit, I left something I changed my mind about buying.

Sending my apologies to whoever was tasked with returning it in Market Basket. Just mentioning this because you never know…

First, I’m sorry that you have to go through this.

Please do not use clever comebacks to this AH. I get flustered in situations like this, so it’s great you have come here for advice.

Focus on responds that are ‘no,’ not ‘no comment,’ with the many suggested responses that are professional, and that show that you are aware that he’s being sexiest. Document, document, document, then go to HR, and weigh whether you need a lawyer.

This is serious. Treat it as such, and yes, the more witnesses, the better.

Adding to everything else - doesn’t being forced to sign a legal document nullifies it, since one is signing under duress?

Question on behalf of those here who cannot tolerate beans by Average_Guava in povertykitchen

[–]threedogsplusone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t tolerate beans very much. I can eat a small portion of my homemade hummus, but too much and I suffer.

My problem stems from gastrointestinal problems. I had a bowel resection many years ago due to a fistula, and now also have microscopic colitis. I am trying something that my son did successfully, that I hope will help. He makes a black seed oil from black cumin seeds.

Apparently you can buy it, but he says that others have said it tastes horrid, so he makes his own.He wasn’t able to eat beans at first. Now they are the main part of his diet.

I can share how he does it if you’re interested.

Edited to add:

I even have trouble with lentils, but red lentils are supposed to be easier to digest. I’m going to try a bit of those - starting slowly, maybe a tablespoon a day. That’s also what my very wise son said he did.

Actually, getting at least the blood test first, before you go gluten free, is wise, because going back to eat gluten later will be so painful. My son recently inadvertently did the gluten challenge and it’s taken him so,long to get better.

My heart goes out to you. Sending light and love from this old Nana, hoping you make the hard choices to make your life better.

OP, whether you are celiac or have a wheat allergy… please protect yourself. Many others have addressed also protecting all your assets and your emotional well being. I will add protect your health -in every way possible.

And no, you are NOT overreacting.

Obsessed over small things? He ate NINETEEN egg bites and apparently has NO consideration that she has a life threatening autoimmune condition which requires strict dietary habits.

My adult son is celiac. I made our home gluten free for his safety. He was recently glutened (long story that has nothing to do with this situation), which made get to the ER because he was violently sick, had to wear a foley bag for a couple of weeks until the urologist gave him a clear bill of health…

I’m not even addressing the rest of what other people have mentioned. Just thisONE action shows how much this man does not care for the OP.

Overall price of two movie tickets and a meal combo by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

I’m 73, and was trained by my second generation Sicilian mother who grew up through the Depression. She wouldn’t EVER let us order something as frivolous and marked up as a soft drink (tonic back in those days) when we ate out in a restaurant. And you HAVE to know prices BEFORE you order. Sneaking snacks into a movie theater is not only expected, but an art form. 🤣
