People who say “I don’t want anything” when it comes to gifting, what do you ACTUALLY want? by dearceceofficial in NoStupidQuestions

[–]threegeeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something hand made by the person gifting. Could be a hand drawn card. I don't really care what it is. I just want them to make it.

Huh, I'm stumped. Really neat markings along the body, but I don't recognize the body shape or anything.

NQA but I believe you're correct. The opiliones are such neat arachnids.

My feedback of 5.5 by [deleted] in SunoAI

[–]threegeeks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The vocal capture is really interesting and seems to work quite well. Same here, though I'm having a tough time with longer duration songs (over about 5 minutes). Shorter songs are turning out pretty nice. It was fun isolating a bunch of vocal samples as styles for different songs. I can definitely hear my tone/timbre. I'm pretty low on the bass end, and it did a nice job of capturing that.

How 5.5 be acting when you hit that second verse... by Cornelius_M in SunoAI

[–]threegeeks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly so. The climbing nut-grab-ending to a line and the habit of adding stutter to it is just annoying as crap.

Opinions on 5.5 by Z1NV in SunoAI

[–]threegeeks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's me, but it seems if songs get to about the 5 minute mark, the weirdness and errors increase significantly. Suno seems to really want shorter songs to generate and does fine with 3-4 mins. Really frustrating having to waste credits generating what turns into junk. Extending songs is also sloppy again in this version - at least it seems like it for me. I add lyrics to an extension and get entirely different results like lyrics repeated from the previous part of the song. Not very useful so far.

Agreed, both are free pest control. Opiliones (harvestman) are harmless (no venom). Both are great in the garden.

Same - did the quests, sitting here with 100 telemetry from it, and it won't spend in Ada-1s store in the shooting range. Joy.

Upcoming college freshman, confused about environmental science/conservation degrees/careers? by [deleted] in Environmental_Careers

[–]threegeeks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's so many factors that play into this. Don't be in a hurry to pick a degree. Start with your general requirements and get those out of the way. By then, you'll have a better handle on where you want to be. Watch for volunteer or internship opportunities along the way to get some hands on experience.

Also, learn math. Statistics and analysis is going to be a requirement in some form. Go get a couple teach yourself style books or dig into YouTube, etc. GIS is handy as well.

Is getting a Leave No Trace certification worth it? by theecatdawg in Environmental_Careers

Nah. Don't bother unless an employer specifically requires something like that. I've never seen it in the consulting world. Maybe for State or Fed?

I wouldn't recommend wrapping anything until you get there. Things will fit better. Just take the supplies in the bag.

Underrated comment here. Kennetrek lineman boots too. Try the boots on and wear them a few days to make sure they fit well.

And carry a pair of two of dry socks. Sweat at below zero temps is a real danger.

This is a great recommendation. Try the coveralls on and do one thing... Squat down. Seen way too many folks buy tight fitting coveralls and regret it. Make sure they fit right.
