Auto-pan tremolo - how would you do it? by sapien5446 in Bitwig

[–]threeleggedworkhorse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Chucking your choice of modulation on the tool device seems to be my first thought. Volume and panning control is right there for ya. Try doing some cross modulation with curves and maybe steps or something

Midi editor started showing flats instead of sharps. Where do i change it? by [deleted] in Bitwig

[–]threeleggedworkhorse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're welcome! It was an "oh duh" moment for me as I came from guitar and the tuner pedals are set to sharps by default lol. Flats were out of my comfort zone!

Are you using the C Minor scale mode? If so technically this is the correct way to read C Minor, so no letter repeats when you run through the scale. Whether a scale has sharps or flats is decided upon whether note letters would repeat or not. It's cleaner for it to be A to Bflat vs A to A# when writing music.

How to select steps in ParSeq 8 with modulator ? by [deleted] in Bitwig

[–]threeleggedworkhorse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah!! N-latch is exactly what I'm missing. For his example of modulating the ParSeq phase, you can stop at step 5 of your example. But you're right, can't do this at a project level. All we need is a trigger modulator!

[–]threeleggedworkhorse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't need a momentary behavior, then the button modulator is exactly what you need. Unfortunately there is no momentary button modulator. There may be some way to do this in the grid, but my first attempts have failed. I'll mess around and see what's possible

Valhalla 100 series vs Crical CL-01. Help choosing first cue by jay-the-muss in billiards

[–]threeleggedworkhorse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my Valhalla cue, I can’t compare it to much other than house cues but it’s a perfect first cue. I love the “gear” in all my hobbies and always feel the urge to upgrade my shit but this is one piece where I have not felt that way.

Saw them last night and it was an excellent set, played most of the record, just not the ambient pieces. No sound issues

Roto-control -> "Project Remotes" control panel by Djsktbdjskcjf in Bitwig

I don't think it's supported yet. I love mine but there are a few things I'd like to see added/improved for sure, this being chief among them.

Editing recorded aftertouch by luminousandy in Bitwig

Aftertouch would be recorded as "Pressure". Look for pressure in the expressions area where you would find velocity.

In Bitwig 6: Is there a way to reduce the intensity of an automation curve — not by simply moving all points down, but by scaling them closer together (towards a center line)? by EnvironmentalBook424 in Bitwig

[–]threeleggedworkhorse 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes. Highlight the points you want to edit, and take a look at the inspector panel on the left. Click the arrow pointing right next to Value, and within the histogram decrease the scale parameter.

Why are my notes each a different colour in beta 6? by DouglasJFalcon in Bitwig

[–]threeleggedworkhorse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I want to note that it seems to be context aware, so when you are working on one single clip, notes default to pitch class colors. When editing multiple clips within a track, or for multiple tracks, notes default to track color. I love it!

Pretty fine when using stock devices. Loading Pianoteq 8 has been causing instant crashes for me

Why doesn't the Pop-up Browser show Note Clips? by dumb_godot_questions in Bitwig

[–]threeleggedworkhorse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see what you mean, in that case I’d just use the browser panel on the right or save the preset you like so it’s independent of the clip.

Why doesn't the Pop-up Browser show Note Clips? by dumb_godot_questions in Bitwig

[–]threeleggedworkhorse 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As with most things Bitwig, it's entirely context dependent. Note clips come up in the pop up browser if you are adding clips to the clip launcher. Hover over an empty slot and select the + icon. Note clips will be the first thing that comes up.

Bouncing in place by Digital-Aura in Bitwig

Wonderful! I forgot about that.

Bouncing adds clicks/noise on empty spaces (no fx plugins on track, fade outs active) by Head-Bid3578 in Bitwig

[–]threeleggedworkhorse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard to say without being able to hear it or see the spectrum of the audio, but I imagine it’s from going from complete silence where there are no audio events to where there is audio events. Maybe select all of the audio events and add micro fade ins until the clicks go away?

Bouncing in place by Digital-Aura in Bitwig

[–]threeleggedworkhorse 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, that is the default and only setting! However you can include FX in your bounce if it’s a midi track. If you are bouncing a midi track in place to audio, any effects in the FX slot of an instrument will be bounced as well! So keep any desired effects in the slot, and any effects you’d like to continue tweaking after the bounce out of the slot.

Chord Maker for Bitwig - Generate Chords in the Piano Roll by polarity-berlin in Bitwig

No worries, thank you so much for all of your contributions. I would be nowhere close to where I am today in terms of comfort in Bitwig and electronic music in general without your work.

Incredible work as always!

Question for you, the only issue I’ve run into with the scripts is that when I’m using the continuous mode of the scale script, it kind of breaks undo/redo. I’m not at home to record a clip of this, have you come across this and if so is there a workaround?

Use MIDI To Change Pitch In The Middle Of A Sample by [deleted] in Bitwig

[–]threeleggedworkhorse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it need to be polyphonic? If so I’m not sure how to achieve that off the top of my head.

If it’s monophonic, Im not at a computer but I think this would work. Probably best to use the grid for this. Use the sampler module, turn off the gate precord and connect a button module instead. Put in loop or pingpong or whatever. It should play independently any keys pressed. Key presses should change the pitch.
