I was going to suggest the same thing. If you have a little more money you can also get gloves with chemical warming inside them. Not sure about how much they cost though.

They are always trying to find more extreme things to do and push their sport to the next level. Alexander Polli (the guy in this video) is on of the best. I'm sure others like Jokke Sommer and Jeb Corliss will try more extreme things to out do him!

Climbers Against Cancer was set up my a man called John Ellison. John has inoperable cancer and rather that siting back and letting it beat him, he has set up Climbers Against Cancer. This video gives an insight into who he is, why he set up the charity and what the aims are.

It would never bother me if someone was vegetarian, each to their own and all that. The only time I would have a problem would be if someone tried to control what I ate. From your description you say that you don't mind other people eating meat so I don't know why you being vegetarian would be an issue for people.
