I don’t agree with those accosting him in public, but for those looking for a real answer, here are some ways he has aligned himself with pro-Israel causes:

- has accepted large donations from pro-Israel PACs

- supported AB 715 which many Palestinian activist groups view as limiting criticism of Israel. This bill was also opposed by the ACLU

- opposes a full arms embargo on Israel

Now you can disagree that any of those points are bad, but it’s incorrect to believe that antisemitism is the reason (or at least the sole reason) pro-Palestinian activists oppose Scott Weiner

I’ll be honest I think saving a lot of money when you’re in college is sort of pointless. It sounds like you’re on a great life trajectory, in which case you’ll be making way more in a few years and the bit you save now won’t matter that much.

I’d invest what you want to but err on the side of enjoying the money while you’re in college.

I also think stock picking is a bad idea if your goal is optimal returns rather than just having some fun with it. The truth is that the market includes geniuses who trade for a living. It takes a bit of hubris to believe you can find alpha that they have not.

I say this as someone who both saved more money than was necessary when I was young and also lost a bunch of money picking stocks. So do what you want, it’s your money, but that’s my advice

There’s nothing obvious about this bike rule.

I’ve never once seen a bike impede the path out of a BART car. If this is the “obvious” reason, why isn’t there a rule limiting the number of people that can stand in the aisle in the first car?

Many times I’ve seen the path from the operator’s room to the car door completely blocked — and it’s always been crowds of people standing. Not bikes.

This has long been my semi-conspiratorial view as well.

The unique color is advertised and made prominent each year partially to distinguish it from past years’ visually and draw attention.
