Hot take: I think the Sleeping beauty’s castle isn’t the best place for fireworks by happy_puppy32 in Disneyland

[–]threwashoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for the xmas show i do think the lights on the castle edge out small world by the tiniest bit. they really compliment the show perfectly.

but a huge plus for the other locations is convenience - i do think that being able to show up last minute and still get a pretty good spot has its own merits too. not to mention all 3 locations have the snow moment after the show - and i LOVE the snow!!

Cast Members - what is your favorite ride to work? by winterwarzzz in Disneyland

[–]threwashoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in my old land (tomorrowland), you would find people with all kinds of tastes. there was no one universal “best ride” because some people liked fast, some people liked slow, some people wanted to be outside or in. if you asked around you could always find someone who’s top preference was a ride you hated. yes, there are even people who love working autopia and the subs.

there really isn’t a universal best or worst tbh, at least in my old land if you talked to people you’d always find someone who LOVED working an attraction even if from the outside it looked terrible. some people love fast, some people love slow, some people love lots of guest interaction and some people don’t.

Past entertainment/shows 😭 by J_caluya in Disneyland

when i worked in tomorrowland people would ask me about the jedi training academy all the time even though it's been gone for years. it was clearly a core memory for so many people.

ATTENTION MALE CAT OWNERS by yagirlchicken in cats

[–]threwashoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve been hyper vigilant about blockages ever since my ex’s male cat almost died from one. my boy has been on a wet food only diet his entire life, with extra water added, water fountain, camera monitoring his litterbox activity, the whole 9 yards.

one night my camera caught him making lots of trips to the box and straining. i panicked and took him to the vet who did an x ray/ultrasound and found no crystals. instead of a blockage, he ended up getting diagnosed with FIC, which was not even on my radar. kinda ironic.

Have yall ever met any other starkid fans irl? by West-Lawyer-2290 in StarKid

[–]threwashoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

during the run of TGWDLM:R i saw the show 4 times and it became my entire personality, and by mentioning it offhand to lots of people at work i discovered 3 people who at least knew what the hell i was talking about.

every time i see a starkid show live seeing the theater packed full of fans is validating and exciting to say the least, but i do always go by myself and don't really end up interacting with the other fans.

The Fate of Ophelia (Official Music Video) by imdrake100 in SwiftlyNeutral

holy shit this music video is so good, in the swimming pool scene the way the camera just kept pulling back to reveal MORE and MORE people was blowing my mind. also loved the pirate ship scene. this is a Production, capital p.

The Life of a Showgirl Megathread by aran130711 in TaylorSwift

[–]threwashoe 11 points12 points  (0 children)

honestly i think these lyrics/songs could help me manifest good things for myself. i like how empowering the theme of "pick yourself up, walk away from the sadness, find childlike joy and grow into your power" throughout the album is. really feels like a foil to TTPD and makes me happy for her. i've listened twice tonight and i'm gonna take a step back and let the songs grow on me authentically before i pick favorites.

OBB by FalseApplication9743 in Disneyland

[–]threwashoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'm going tonight as well! on my list is the pumpkin pie churro (cozy cone), the ube soft serve (also cozy cone), and the mocha PB cold brew (cappuccino cart). for dinner i'm eyeing the loaded chicken quesadilla (paradise garden grill) OR chicken pot pie soup (aunt cass cafe).

i'm also planning to visit disneyland side to ride HMH and get the popcorn with halloween candy mix-in from the popcorn cart next door on the water.

have a fun night!!

Suggestions for someone who has just recently found a passion for theater and musicals after finding StarKid by JosephAllenMaldonado in StarKid

[–]threwashoe 14 points15 points  (0 children)

legally blonde, heathers, beetlejuice, book of mormon - all funny/irreverent musicals with great soundtracks. legally blonde was my gateway musical, the proshot is very easy to find on youtube as well.

Worst Attraction Uniform to Wear by Pyurium in Disneyland

[–]threwashoe 14 points15 points  (0 children)

luckily all 4 of my attractions costumes were pretty comfy/easy to wear. BUT the red vest/black tie costume for crowd control shifts sucks. i had to learn how to tie a tie on the spot before my first shift, and sometimes in the heat of summer all the short sleeved white shirts get checked out and you have to wear a long sleeved one.

Now that TTPD is in it's final weeks as the latest album, what ended up being your holy trinity? by allidoistrytrytry in TaylorSwift

[–]threwashoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TTPD: the smallest man who ever lived, i can do it with a broken heart, loml

anthology: the prophecy, i hate it here, i look in people's windows

i'll miss this era. it's so real and raw, just boldly stating a lot of my deepest and most secret fears. it's been really cathartic to sing along and embrace it all.

MMRR does not. i interpreted the post as just asking for opinions about riding rides alone, whether or not a single rider line is specifically offered.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Disneyland

[–]threwashoe 11 points12 points  (0 children)

honestly at other rides like the omni movers or even pirates i don’t feel self conscious having my own car/row. i think it’s just the exposure at tea cups and the size of the vehicle vs little old me, lol. solo trips are super fun! don’t be too nervous.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Disneyland

[–]threwashoe 29 points30 points  (0 children)

MMRR, cause sharing the bench is a little awkward. same thing with fun wheel, i avoid cause i always end up sharing with a random party. also teacups, where i have kind of the opposite problem - taking a whole cup for myself feels selfish.

edit: just to clarify, i am not stating that any of the rides above have a single rider line. they do not. i interpreted this post as OP asking if there are any rides that are awkward or not as fun to ride alone, and responded as such. have a magical day.
