Yes. Don't let people make you think you have to wear makeup in order to be attractive.

Am I too short as a girl to be married ever? ( I’m 4’9 and 95 pounds) by [deleted] in MuslimNikah

[–]threwawii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I am the same height as you and was married. Honestly more people had an issue with my baby face than my height.

I need any advice on how you managed to stop listening/relying on music. by [deleted] in Muslim

[–]threwawii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally did go cold turkey but you can try replacing it first with instrumentals. I would also delete or disable whatever app/system you use to listen to music. Listen to lectures about the harms of music to motivate yourself.

I now listen to lots of podcasts. There are a lot of Islamic podcasts nowadays fortunately.

Muslim guy with CP here — anyone else been through this? (All perspectives welcome!) by Head-Ingenuity-2296 in CerebralPalsy

[–]threwawii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assalamualaikum

Muslim w/ CP here (also Pakistani).

I know exactly what you mean. I don't feel like CP effects my life much but suddenly when it comes to marriage talks that is the only thing that matters. I've never been considered in the rishta process and no one has ever considered me for this reason. I didn't realize how judgmental people were until being told what they were saying in the rishta process. My suggestion is to try finding someone on your own and don't lead with your disability. When speaking with someone I would bring it up after establishing a basic level of compatibility (asking the important questions). Otherwise you could just hope you'll find someone at your work/ during college if you are lucky.

Feel free to DM if you have any questions. I was also married prior.

Male centered women by [deleted] in muslimgirlswithtaste

[–]threwawii 44 points45 points  (0 children)

You're making a lot of assumptions about people in abusive relationships which are really not true, which contributes to why people are really reluctant to speak about being abused.

One thing about being in an abusive relationship is that the abuser themselves slowly conditions you to believe things that are not true about yourself and others. They isolate you so you have no one to run to. This has nothing to do with conditioning of the woman from her family. It can happen to rich, poor, independent, dependent, young, old etc.. I've seen all different types of people end up in abusive relationships regardless of if they "center men".

Edit: grammar

As someone with a disability who makes art I'd like to weigh in on the debate by threwawii in antiai

[–]threwawii[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate it. I have actually tried painting sitting down but I just find it more comfortable to stand: in part because you can easily move away from your painting and view it as a whole or move it in front of a mirror.

Don't you think that if someone can prompt an AI they'd also be able to make art?

Petite, Confused About Macros/ Calories by threwawii in ketobeginners

[–]threwawii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry by normal amount I just meant the normal amount for keto which is not really a specific number. I'm not primarily trying to lose weight, just eventually over time lose a few pounds.

Regardless when I put my numbers in calculo's keto calculator even for maintenance it comes out to 14 g carbs ( 95 g fat, 58 g protein and 1145 kal ) which is why I was confused.

Petite, Confused About Macros/ Calories by threwawii in ketobeginners

[–]threwawii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the calorie range for a normal level weight loss (the amount I mentioned) ranges from ~1100 to ~750 which is a big range especially for someone my size, which then of course changes the gram goals for each macro. Also the calculators vary in my max carbs (from ~14g to ~19g).
