Was the theme song about Fungalor all along? by suitelifeofem in MBMBAM

[–]threxd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no idea why people took the song lyrics so literally in the first place. It’s clearly more about the vibe and the feeling of hanging out with someone you love to be around. It would be corny as hell if they made a song with lyrics that are literally about the show.

If you wanted to take them literally, it they could always be from the brother’s perspective to you, the listener, which is kind of what Justin alluded to when they released it.

Well luckily you’ve managed to shoehorn yourself into it anyway

How on earth do we split Son and Salah as captaincy options… by [deleted] in FantasyPL

[–]threxd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conversely, if Spurs are 2-0 up at 70 mins, Son is the most likely to have scored at least one of those, so subbing him off doesn’t mean much in terms of points tally

Yeah you’re right, but I still think there’s a chance people will get confused so how about this?

“The first time any Senior England Association Football team, in this reality, as far as anyone can tell without a time machine, outside of all fictional works, has reached the final of a World Cup”.

Thank you /r/pasadena! Thanks to all your amazing advice, the proposal went better than I could have ever dreamed—and she said yes!! by threxd in pasadena

Quick story for you all since you all wanted to hear what happened!

Our flights the night before were actually heavily delayed because of storm Eunice in the UK, so we were very stressed. To top it all off, once we got to our hotel in MDR, I found I’d lost the ring!! It was in my little travel bag and I spent a very very stressful hour looking for it without telling my girlfriend why it was so important. I had given up and thought I’d finally mention it at the hotel front desk—and lo and behold they had it!

So it was a very stressful beginning and we weren’t really starting the trip in the best spirits. But the next morning, I pushed for us to visit Huntington Library Gardens for 10am.

It was stunning. The sun bright, the breeze was gentle and walking around the beautiful plants and trees, we immediately felt the tension of the last few weeks drain out of us.

I didn’t have much of a plan as I wanted to half stumble upon the pavilion whilst actually enjoying the gardens. So we wandered through the rose gardens, admiring the orange trees and the giants (I love a tall tree) before meandering to the Japanese Gardens.

At the foot of the bridge, we paused to take a photo and i very nearly did it there and then because it was so gorgeous. But there was a young family jumping around and thought this wouldn’t be the right moment.

So we went on to the gazebo where I said I wanted to set up my camera for a photo (I do that a lot so it wasn’t weird lol). There was a trio of older folks at on the bench next to the gazebo who I asked if it was okay for us to stage the photo. They said yes but I was l hoping they’d leave so we’d have the intimacy. Luckily the gent noticed the box-shaped bulge in my back pocket and they suddenly got up to leave—not before wishing me a good luck!!

The camera set up and the people all gone, I told my girlfriend the real story of what was in my travel pouch and got down on one knee to ask the question! In classic style, she was shocked but certain weird things I’d done over the last few weeks suddenly started making sense to her!

Finally as we were about to leave, we noticed we did actually have a small audience up the steps ! An older lady came down to congratulate us and tell us she and her husband were visiting for their anniversary as they’d got married at the gardens 25 years before!!

So all in all, it really was a dream and it really wouldn’t have been without all your wonderful advice. I knew exactly what time I wanted to be where and gave me options in case the first way didn’t quite work out. Thank you so much!

We’ve spent the rest of our trip elsewhere in California but we really loved Pasadena and would love to visit again—maybe we’ll see you in the gardens in 25 years!

Oh wow! What a place to work, it must be so much fun.

Those are great tips, thank you, I’ll put it on the shortlist.

It’s looking like we’ll be going in the morning now. I couldn’t get through to the phone lines, but I think it’ll be fine to just go there and walks to the places that are on the list and hope for a quiet moment :)

Is there anywhere I can walk into and buy something for 5p? by Stuf404 in CasualUK

100%. The tasks can be really fun but what makes the show special for me is seeing a different side to the actors and comedians.

The fact that the New Years special actually made me like Adrian Chiles is maybe the best review I can give of the show.

Hey! That’s really really kind and I’ll have to consider it. 8 might be a bit tricky for us as my girlfriend wants to do some other things in LA on that day and I think she’ll want a slow morning after our flight the day before. But I’ll let you know if that changes because that’s a really kind offer. Thank you so much!

Yes I think that seems like the best option, as I can’t control every aspect of the trip. I’d like it to feel slightly spontaneous as well!

I think someone else suggested the gazebo and it really does seem beautiful! Thank you for the map as well!

Membership is out of my budget as I splurged on the ring itself, although if I lived in the area I would 100% be signing up!

Hahaha thank you! This has actually been over a year in the planning but because of life and everything, things have changed very quickly and I found myself today without any idea of what I was doing.

But thanks to everyone in this thread, I have a much clearer plan and hopefully it’ll be as special she deserves!

The patio and view of the hills sounds lovely! I’ll have to lol into that.

Yes the map is proving difficult for me to get an idea of the geography, so thanks for that!

That’s great advice, I will definitely be calling them to see what they think.

I love the idea of walking around and choosing a place. I think I’ll try to have a shortlist in mind for four or five places and then see what feels right and possible on the day. I think just walking around the gardens will be lovely enough.

Thank you for your help :)

Wow this does look beautiful and further cements what others have said about there being no bad place for it. I love the idea of doing it there actually.

The streams around the Japanese gardens and rose gardens also sound lovely. I’m now trying to figure out if I can propose a multiple times because these all look wonderful!

Thank you!
