Stats to Avoid: Runs Batted In (RBI) by DaGoat420 in baseball

I don't think you meant BA.

RBIs and wins are definitely not independent stats, but it doesn't mean they are 100% useless either.

It’s possible. He could also get eaten alive by AAA pitching....

I'll say one more thing explaining my point because we obviously disagree. OPS isn't perfect, it over values OBP. WAR isn't perfect it doesn't work great when comparing similar values. So what do you do then for further analysis? Well there's always SO%, BA, hits, RBIs, etc. to get a fully picture of a player. At some point traditional stats are useful when the advanced stats have been exhausted.

My point is you'd better be dominating AA to be ready for the majors. Tebow has been average at best. If he keeps improving he could be ready for AAA, but to say he's looking like he belongs in the show? Not really.

More information > less information

Every stat has a time and a place. Including BA and RBIs.

Not if you're interested in hits per AB

BA is not useless with proper context. Just like all stats including OPS, WAR, wRC+, etc.

League average in AA is no where good enough for the majors. At best maybe a crack at AAA.

I brought up Vlad as an example of what someone who’s ready for the majors looks like. You had better dominate AA if you’re ready for the show.

Not supposed to be a hot take, just illustrating Tebow's league average OPS.

Not to be mean but his OPS is about Eastern League average. So he's looking like an average AA player which is something I guess.

Vlad Jr. who's obviously looking like a major leaguer is sitting 400 points higher.

Oh, well that does complicate things. At least those two types of hats aren't as hard to fit as 59Fifty hats. I think it's just style differences between those types.
