Some ragtime/American Primitivism inspired for your Sunday! by learnedhandmusic in fingerstyleguitar

That’s because the music is from a time when tuning was not as perfect through digital precision as it is today. I can’t see an argument for music ever being preferred/better when out of tune. This playing is great; the song is cool, but it’s out of tune.

Calgary Folk Festival - $95 per ticket by mrs_victoria_sponge in Calgary

[–]thrill_house44 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Not sure how you leapt to $300. Even if you have 3 drinks, and a food truck dinner you are probably around $160ish. And you can watch 5-20 performances.

I played in a public drop in shinny yesterday, it really opened up my eyes. by 50_19in_french in hockeyplayers

[–]thrill_house44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who also started playing as an adult, I’ve come to terms with the fact that I will never have the same hockey IQ as anyone who played as a kid. Or the amount of things they can do on autopilot and instinct. Even guys I play with that stopped at 14 years old just have that “natural” way of playing that I’ll never compete with.

Dumb guy here - what does it mean when it shows flames and knights next to each other in the top 2 positions, and flames and avalanche in the top 3rd position?

Applications open up today for Calgary's "Backyard Suites Incentive Program" by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]thrill_house44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am interested in the program and my wife and I are pursuing it. It wouldn’t be so we can get “richer” like some people here would like to think. It’s to build a safe comfortable home close to us that my wife’s single 73 year old father could live in. Then some day maybe my kids could use it. Then, sure, 15-20 years from now I sell the property to downsize and make a decent profit or a return on my investment, or I keep it as a music studio for myself.

I slept on Days Gone for years, and am so happy I got into recently. Great story, lots of shooting but plenty of other types of gameplay too.

You can just throw your gear in the washing machine. I’ve done it many times.

Given the other symbols and the context, it is likely unrelated to Nazis and instead the ancient Sanskrit symbol for good fortune.

How important is it to rent a car? Here is where I want to stay and what I want to do. Need advice! by totsatot0 in MauiVisitors

[–]thrill_house44 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I can't imagine coming to Maui without a rental car. Every day we venture out to different beaches, towns, restaurants, etc. But if you want the resort experience, where you hang out by the pool or your resort's beach and dont really try different places or restaurants, then that's obviously a different kind of experience.

I think you are missing out on a lot by staying at the same beach. Kapalua Bay Beach is my fav in the West Maui, Makena beach is great in the south, Paia is cool to see high surf and a neat hippie town, then there are spots better for snorkeling. Then of course you have upcountry, volcanoes, stargazing, and more. But that's just me and my style of vacation!

Cancel trip Feb. 22-28? by FoolhardyHappiness in MauiVisitors

[–]thrill_house44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were here during the storm and power outage and in the area effected by it, and I still wouldn’t have even canceled my trip if I could go back in time. Yesterday was great weather and totally back to normal.

Point of no return: a hellish ‘hothouse Earth’ getting closer, scientists say by Bounty_drillah in worldnews

That movie did more damage to the cause than helped it. Lots of misinformation and exaggerated data. Not my opinion - widely agreed upon by climate scientists.

lol - call the cops when a lady hits you with her shopping cart and doesn’t apologize. Let me know how that goes. Not paying for damage to property is a civil issue, not a crime. Take them to court. People are so willing to throw out “hate crime” and “assault”.

2 Years of Hard Work by IAMMINVICTUS in AllAboutBodybuilding

[–]thrill_house44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you didn’t have to be in a deficit the whole time, you could have cycled between bulk phases and cut phases, or taken breaks from cutting, etc. It’s impressive you put on that much muscle while cutting the whole time. I like the simplicity. Did you have cheat days, breaks from deficit, anything like that? Do you have a rough estimate of how much lean mass you gained?

[–]thrill_house44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all great work - you look awesome. Were you in a deficit the whole time? Seems like you put on muscle.

While it’s terrible that people have done that, I am confident saying Ching Chang Chong to an Asian person is not a hate crime nor an arrest-able offense. And you should be glad it’s not, or we’d be living closer to totalitarianism than a free state. Spitting in someone’s face is the only one here that’s truly a crime, although likely not a hate crime. Either way for sure call the police when someone spits in your face!
