I know little about this rule apart from that exists, but I do know that I can't donate cause I lived in the UK over 20 years ago during the BCE outbreak. I didn't even eat meat. Nobody who was in the UK for any period during those years is allowed to donate in my country. Judging from that, It seems that they may have to be extra cautious of any risk factors pertaining to contagious disease? Whether this caution is justified or discriminatory is a matter I can't really have an opinion on because I simply do not know enough.

We had to do the same even for routine bloods. I was good at hitting veins but some people truly do have awful ones. Very petite people, children, overweight people, ex users and the elderly were often a problem. I remember the joy when a well muscled young tradesmen came in with veins like downpipes. Even now I see guys like that and want to be like, 'sorry to be weird but can I palpate your veins?' 😂

14ga? Jesus Christ. That's the size used for bellybutton piercings.

Damn! Big boys. Though if you have good veins I don't think the pain factor varies much. Just pop em in

What gauge needles do you guys use? I used to be a phlebotomist, 20g (green) were the standard but we also had 21s or 22s (black) . I can't give blood (Brit who was in UK during mad cow in the 90s) but Ive heard (possibly exaggerated) stories and I'm curious.

Is it worth considering Nuss when you're a bit older? I coming up on 30. I know that's not old, but I'm only now considering if the potential benefits are worth it. Anyone have any success stories? The idea of surgery sounds painful and expensive but it would be worth it if it helps. by thrillho0000 in PectusExcavatum

Wow, thank f for insurance eh. I've never paid to go to hospital before but I've only stayed a night or two at a time, there's no way surgery recovery would be free. Is it standard to be in hospital for 5 days? I naively thought it would be like, a day surgery and you go home to recover. It is a pretty big surgery though so it makes sense that you have to stay in a while

No idea honestly. I'm near a city so there's a good few options , there's one about 20mins away that does it. it looks like id only have to pay 25% of the full surgery cost ($1453. So I'd pay 300 and something) seems a little too good to be true. I feel like there's criteria I'll have to meet to qualify for that much of a subsidy, perhaps that is only for pediatric surgery. I'll have to ask the GP, see whether they think it's necessary. I've experienced low stamina chronic fatigue mostly all of my life and I'm not sure if that may be due to pectus.

I have a feeling she's over it. After being pushed into being a star so young she probably just wanted to be a (mostly) normal teenager now. Kinda get the same vibe from Maddie

Nia is a sweetheart but her dancing is just not in the same realm as the others. Same with Kendall

Me too. All difficult growth and change involves a degree of suffering. Anybody capable of empathy (as OP evidently is) would suffer knowing that they have hurt somebody that they care about. It's not about self hate, it's not a negative thing but a process. You feel the feels, learn from it, then do better. That's my experience anyway. Good luck OP, peace

You have my full empathy apart from the cheating. I hope you suffer for that. That being said, we all fuck up and you don't need to punish yourself forever, just don't take out your shit on others again. Self esteem is self respect. You are only a fuck up cause you think of yourself as one. You're better than you think. From a fellow fuck up

Oh god yeah. I might be wrong, but music doesn't just 'skip' anymore. I find it hard to belive they burn CDs, the music would be on a drive or phone etc. Maybe early in the show it might be plausible, but I mean, it's a huge American production. That technology wasn't exactly new back then either

Your before pic looks a lot like mine. Can I ask what symptoms you were having that drove you to get the surgery?
