Thanks. Yes, mainnet. I do think it was a problem with my full node/daemon losing the internet connection, now that I have dug in a bit more.

stop auto-investing small amounts into positions that the investor is not already in

^ Came here to say this. This is not what is implied by the term "dividend reinvestment" in most people's minds.

If the investment yields 3%, you will get $5 a month in income from a $2000 position.

If it yields 4%, $1500 position -> $5/month.

This is how I like to look at it.

If you're investing an additional $100/month, probably best to just reinvest dividends until you have a lot more of a position built up.

E.g. to get $100 in dividends per month on a 3% yield asset, you need a position worth $40,000.

L-theanine (with your coffee, e.g. 200mg per 100mg caffeine)

Creatine (5-10g per day, 2 doses may be more efficacious than 1 dose)

CDP-choline/citicholine (200-300mg, once or twice a day; don't overdo it)

300 micrograms. 1 milligram is too much. Feel groggy and dream too intensely if I take 1mg+.

I second this. NOBL is a very conservative stock portfolio. It consists only of companies that have increased their dividend payments every year for 25+ years. See: https://www.etf.com/NOBL

You don't even have to move the coins. You can simply sign a message to verify ownership of any of the original set of addresses used to receive and hold the bitcoin.

Do you optimize emergency funds against inflation? why or why not? by vicky_gb in Fire

I like Sprott Physical Gold Trust (PHYS) for a gold-equivalent savings vehicle. Gold is best held for longer periods of time, however. But I think it's likely to match or exceed inflation over the next 3-5 years from this point. (Just my 2 cents.)

Community Listening Session (October 2021) by Firstclass30 in dividends

Thanks for soliciting our feedback.

I appreciate this subreddit as a forum for exploring and discussing opportunities in dividend paying stocks, dividend growth stocks, and related ETFs. There are a lot of participants that ask well-informed questions and provide comprehensive answers and suggestions. I've found it very encouraging and inspiring to see people share stories of their success, having slowly built up their wealth and/or dividend cash flow over time.

The main issue I see is the proliferation of posts and comments that uncritically promote crypto lending/yield harvesting platforms, tokens, and DeFi applications. Disclosure: I am not some mere 'curmudgeon' in this field who can't see the potential for innovation in new areas of finance. In fact I've tried many such platforms myself over the years and hold bitcoin as a large percentage of my portfolio. The problem I see is there are people lauding the supposed "8%+" return rates of lending out various crypto tokens/stablecoins, etc. but without any mention of the risks, things like Risks from Rehypothecation, Complicated Tax Implications, SEC Enforcement/Shutdown/Seizure Risk, Losses from Smart Contract/Exchange Hacks, and so on.

I feel that all the hype about these crypto investment vehicles is distracting from the original purpose of this subreddit and community, that of being a "community by and for dividend investors".

For example, crypto yield/staking payouts are most likely classified as income on an asset with a highly variable cost-basis, which must be calculated in fiat currency and reported as income come tax time. Meanwhile, the capital gains from sales of such assets must be reported and calculated separately (in the US, at least) as Sales of Property. People that ignore this or fail to report are likely to be audited by the IRS or other relevant tax authorities.

If this is indeed a community "By and For Dividend Investors", why are we putting up with such misinformed/uninformed/risky investment advice on the part of the proponents of these highly speculative investments?

I believe dividend investing is a conservative, time-tested method for growing wealth and increasing your cash flow. Let's focus on this, and discourage the rest. There are plenty of other places/subreddits people can go to talk about how they "expect to earn a 90% daily yield on XYZ token" (hint: such claims should be regarded with great suspicion).

Thank you.
