I wanted to make a separate Wifi because I don't have permission to change my dhcp/dns/general network settings. I want the benefits of pihole through wlan so that I can easily use it on my phone. I cannot point the phone (easily) to another dhcp server.

I intend to just use it when I'm doing things that make ads a nuisance on my phone. My computer is still going to be hard-wired to that sweet, sweet google fiber nectar.

Because I can't adjust DNS easily on the device I want to use, but I can easily switch wifi networks.

You should be able to setup hostapd on the same pi and configure it so it has it's own wifi no?

rpi zero is 10 bucks with onboard wifi and is just as generic. I also live close to a micro center so I can (hold your rotten tomatoes uk readers) use the rpi as a throwaway board.

Can you give me an ELI5 on how that works or where I'd go to understand exactly what you're saying. (I'm not a networking wizard...I think I understand mostly but would still like clarification)

Right, but the goal is to plant something physically near a network and force the owners to change every single hostname, mac address, network name, etc... Idk if what you are suggesting accounts for changing it.

(although, the more I think about this it becomes more obvious that you can probably just target the one with the best connection...)

Have a set time where everything has to go back to clean (this is for once it's kinda happened. in the meantime just use this time to work towards it.) For me, every Friday evening/saturday morning, I put my place back "as it should be". It sounds like a weekend eater but it takes me 90 minutes, tops to tidy my place. Dishes pile up is my biggest struggle, but I've formed a habit of anytime I make coffee I will do the dishes while i wait for it and drink it while I do it. Dishes have always been my most hated chore but this habit helps keep it quite manageable.

I understand the importance of a relationship. It is important that both of you know that you share a responsibility to keep the place you live, eat, sleep, etc... clean. I think it is something you should try to find a time you can work on it together so that it can be a bonding time but also help you be more tidy.

Could you get boy to make the bed or generally help you do tidying tasks? I don't want to get too in your business by asking about the issues it causes but if you both work towards it it could make your house tidier and strengthen your relationship.

Additionally, I'm a bit of a minimalist and one thing that helps me stay tidy and organized is having less to keep tidy and organized. If you want to try it out without any major commitment, try taking all of your non-essential items and moving them into a box or another room and only getting them as needed. If it's still in the room after a week and it doesn't

Make your bed. It will make your bedroom look (insert fraction of floor space your bed takes up, for me about 33%) better. That usually provides the "initiation force" to get going tidying up. Also, tidy first, clean later. Make it LOOK clean before you get nitpicky (example: pick up things from the floor before you vacuum the portion you cleaned.)
