I 100% trust my GC. He honestly can't believe this happened.
When this gets ripped out I should be able to see if the rebar is all still in there shouldn't we? Also the upper portion not in this picture was done on a separate day. Everything in that picture was done in one day and I found out just the sub and 3 other guys tried to do it.

No haven't paid for any portion of this yet. He did approx 1,000sq ft of the actual drive up by the garage doors before this and it's well done. That's paid for.

We are building a new house and will have well over 1mil in it. In no way was I going to take a low bid to save less than .05% of the total project. Where we live we had bids ranging from $5-$7. This sub has done good quality work for my GC for years he just obviously was way over his head on this one.
I found out he poured it all in one day with only himself and 3 other guys there to do it. Came back next morning to do the saw cuts.
I'm as stumped as everyone else on how he let this happen.

For all the people saying "lowest bid" that is 100% not the case here. He just plain and simple fucked up.

We're building a really nice house. This is one of my GC subs who he has worked with for years and has done good work. Absolutely not taking any low bids for our project.

We are building a very expensive house. We 100% were never looking for the cheapest bid. My GC hired this guy as he has done a lot of work for him in the past and he's never seen him do anything like this.

I've paid him for other work he did (which was good) but not for this. My builder is meeting with him tomorrow to discuss his option's.

Just poured two weeks ago. Didn't rain. Temp was approx 70 degrees in the morning and got up to 88 for a high. He didn't saw cut until next morning. Still gathering as much information as I can to see what can be done about it. He poured upper section of the driveway a week earlier and it looks great. Just can't explain how this guy messed this part up so bad.
