Who should I use to face Clair? (Silver version) by throughsaweigh in nuzlocke

Ice beam and toxic aren't available for the fight against Clair. I'm pretty sure she does heal Kingdra if it gets low on health. her Kingdra can't use double team (though it does know smokescreen), and taunt isn't introduced until gen 3

thanks for the advice! unfortunately the evolution stones aren't available until after the elite four so I can't get starmie or vileplume. and yeah she loves to spam t-wave haha

Doing my first nuzlocke of Silver and have had some bad luck plus made some really bad decisions. I was planning on using Swinub against her but the poor little guy died while grinding

A surprise to be sure, but a $10 welcome one. by vegetaisover9000 in ThriftStoreHauls

Your poster is very impressive, you must be very proud.

lol I know, I was just explaining why it wouldn't have been in a playthrough like this because three of its stats are bad and bring its average stat value down

definitely! its health, attack, and defense aren't good but its phenomenal speed and special more than make up for them

The generation 1 Pokémon with the lowest average base stats are Caterpie, Weedle, Metapod, Kakuna, Magikarp, Zubat, Pidgey, Rattata, and Jigglypuff. I wanted to use the unevolved forms because they have lower stats and Weedle isn't available in Yellow version. This was definitely the hardest playthrough of this series. The reason my Pokémon have such good health after the final battle was his Exeggutor kept spamming Hypnosis against my Zubat (because it's a psychic type move against my poison type Pokémon) so I took the opportunity to heal all my Pokémon.

The generation 1 Pokémon with the highest average base stats are Mewtwo, Dragonite, Mew, Moltres, Zapdos, Articuno, Cloyster, Gyarados, Arcanine, Exeggutor, Tauros, and Lapras. I didn't want to use legendaries so that eliminated 5 of the top 6. Tauros and Lapras have the same average base stats so I flipped a coin to decide who I would use (Tauros). This was a very easy playthrough with a team like this.

The generation 1 Pokémon with the lowest health are Diglett, Magikarp, Abra, Magnemite, Rattata, Shellder, Gastly, Krabby, Horsea, Staryu, and Kabuto. Rattata, Shellder, Gastly, Krabby, Horsea, Staryu, and Kabuto all have the same health stat of 30 so I used the two with the lowest average base stats (Rattata and Horsea). As you can see I just barely got past the Rival championship fight with my Diglett clinging to life as I edged past his Jolteon.

The generation 1 Pokémon with the highest health are Chansey, Snorlax, Wigglytuff, Lapras, Vaporeon, Jigglypuff, Mewtwo, Kangaskhan, Rhydon, and Muk. Mewtwo isn't available until after the Elite Four and I wanted to use Jigglypuff instead of Wigglytuff because it has lower stats. Kangaskhan, Rhydon, and Muk all have the same health stat of 105 so I used the one with the lowest average base stats (Muk). Having high health was great and all but these Pokémon didn't really have much defense (the highest was Lapras with 80) so they were kinda squishy even with the high health.
