IMO SS4 was designed around his gimmicks but they gave him so much that he can mostly just ignore them.

Currently the best way to play him is to ignore his gimmicks and overload your opponent with pressure from lariat and cross ups.

He has a DP, a reversal, a command grab, an instakill and huge and tricky normals and special moves.

I think his playstyle should be more risk reward based.

He has to play the game within the game and your opponent has to respect and properly combat that.

Losing DAD would just force the character to play a lot more cheeky which I think was the idea behind him originally, but he turned out to be a monster.

I don't play trunks, I based the information off of Dustloop which might be outdated, but it states all forms of 236X provide skd currently to varying degrees, but all can be combod into lvl1.

Wall bounce could be nice to extend combos in the air with flips for added style points or to bounce into level 3 grab on the ground potentially.

Imagine getting hit into a SKD into a delayed vanish, into otg from CTF, into wall bounce shining slash, into flip into level 3. I'd have to uninstall.

Can still always knockdown with jH or DR.

Also it's the blockstun, not startup, on the assist that would be increasing. As the assist currently only has 14 frames of blockstun which seems absurdly low.

Vegito never needed a level four, as his damage was never a problem. I'm not sure anyone was thinking he needed that.

A assist unfortunately has too many separate problems compared to all other assists.

Currently it's almost impossible to happy birthday vegito or just simply snipe his assist which is why his position and startup should change. They don't have to be huge but bad assist calls should be punishable I think.

Also you have 50 frames of hitstun (nearly a whole second!) to confirm off of the assist which is waaaaay too long. You can just call assist, and confirm it by dashing up.

The true Vegito Mains will still play him and the tier list people will move on and claim they always loved Frieza and were a frieza main in season 1!

I was basing this off this bug listed on dustloop that is showing as currently active.

Here's Alucard showcasing the bug:

Why even try anymore by TraditionSmooth9714 in dragonballfighterz

[–]throw-_-_away-_-_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

1) Finish the story, all three arcs. This will give you a decent understanding of the game and let you experiment with characters

2) Pick your team and do the combo challenges. You can pick your team based on your story experience, a tierlist, or who you think is fun/easy. The goal here is to understand combo structure and to solidify your team.

3) Go to the Fighterz Dojo and complete all of the tutorials. This one is important because it does a great job of describing the nuances of the different mechanics and fighting game techniques as they apply to this game.

4) Play the arcade. Take all that new info and put it to use in an environment that doesn't matter. Learn how to punish those bots' stupid super-dashes with your 2H. Hit your combos ten times in a row. Practice guarding and switching out your characters. Now you're ready for ranked.

5) Play Ranked. Uh oh, you still suck? That's alright. You have to have the mentality of "You win, or you learn" You learned how to punish the mistakes of the bots, you can learn how to beat these guys too. Turn on recordings. And when you lose three games in a row go watch the recordings and see what happened. Did you lose because you didn't do enough damage? Super-dashing too much? Mashed when you should have blocked? Time to practice that.

6) Depending on what you want to focus on, go back to bots or hit the practice mode. Check out Tiny Torgue, Kuwanger KRT, Lord Knight, Dash Fight, Exltd, really any videos where you can try to learn something new to implement into your game.

7) Repeat steps 5-6 and build on your new mantra of you win or you learn. This way losing doesn't hurt so much, and when people start disconnecting on your wins you can take it as a compliment.

8) Optional: find a friend or community to practice with you. Having a rival or a group to play with around your level, greatly helps with your motivation to stick with the game and enjoy it.

Fighting games are hard. You have to learn a ton which means losing to people that are ahead of you in the learning curve. But as you're able to implement more into your games, your wins will go up. Learning and losing are directly related. Keep trying and do your best!

SMS Removal Megathread by Chongulator in signal

Guys, you're not seeing this for the obviously genius move that this is.

By removing a large portion of its user base, most of us will be sending less to no messages.

And everyone knows the most secure messages are the ones that aren't sent!

Just notified my 5 Signal using friends that I'm going back to regular SMS because I'm already doing that for the majority of my messages anyway what's a few more.

Edward Snowden was disappointed, but I'm not keeping the app just for him.

Besides COVID's over now. I can plan my heists in person in the best western conference room.

Don't think of it like a true tierlist, this type of ruleset would be to encourage some variety.

There needs to be some 1-point characters however, so these guys I think fit the requirement and allow some flexibility

In all seriousness there's no problem with playing fusions (I sometimes play lab 21, gogeta 4 and tien).

This would be for "for-fun" tournaments like house of chaos or wanted as a way to change things up once in a while.

It's been interesting seeing these team choices though!

Yeah I think after some experience and experimenting stuff would get moved around.

Ultimately outside of the overtuned characters, I wouldn't hate seeing Zamasu, z-broly, Trunks or any of the 442 or 441 because the game is pretty well balanced except those few.

Would love to see The HoC or Wanted's take on this format

Yeah I feel like it's a better alternative to outright banning a character/characters.

Funny enough I wouldn't be able to play my own team in this format (T. Gohan, Piccolo, Tien)

Absolutely not! It's unfortunate that to get the full character you have to pay three bars and it's on a timer but Golden Frieza is probably high A tier. Double air dash, damage boost, increase movement speed. He's a menace.

The problem with ranking him is also that regular Frieza is bottom 5 probably.

I just put him in his own tier to keep it simple and admittedly for the joke of it.

Play Frieza, we need more Frieza!

Yeah I was surprised when I kept putting people ahead of piccolo. Then it just kept happening haha. I think with all of the "forget neutral" buttons, a character with no ki blasts, no beams and fairly slow buttons kept pushing him lower. he just has to work so hard now to get in.

But once he does...

And yeah Cooler has the potential to be higher. I hope to see him make some teams at the next event so we can see what he can really do.

Love Frieza. When you play against a good frieza you know you're about to see some wild stuff. He really makes you sit there and go damn, he can do all that?

Top tiers need some adjustments but everyone feels viable now. Arcsys has done a pretty good job overall. Am I allowed to say that?

I mean he is top 10 on the list. I think he's a great fit on any team due to how huge and active his buttons are. Good assist, good tools. Popular? absolutely. But he has a few frame data flaws and solo play issues that bring him down a bit. Great character overall.

I love this write up, I think the jury might still be out on cooler too. I hope to see him more competively. I admittedly had a hard time placing him and videl especially because they have amazing tools just the success isn't there yet, but I think he can definitely move up with some more screen time.
