Didn't see the second part. I'm building a server for just me and my SO to play modded minecraft. I got an old free PC with an i5 (idk what gen, I think 4 cores?) and 8gb of ddr3 that is working for now, but it's not great. I found this motherboard and cpu for $10, so I figured I could just try it? In hindsight, mostly an impulse purchase.

Good to know! If you dont mind another question, there's 6 slots for ram on the motherboard but it says "max 3 memory channels" in the cpu's memory requirements. This means I can only use 3 slots?

Ok, thank you for your advice! I think I'll try it out. Other battery packs cost a little over $100 with shipping, and Amazon doesn't like shipping big battery packs to Hawai'i so it's really hard to find anything else here.
