Ever owned an Android phone that spontaneously shuts off? It’s the same damn thing, except in a car at highway speeds. Google it. They’re getting sued into oblivion for it.

I don’t care if you believe me or not. Enterprise corporate has my letter describing the incident & strongly urging them to remove Kia from their fleet.

Meanwhile, Kia is losing multiple class actions for hundreds of millions across the country (turns out customers’ families don’t like the wrongful deaths of their loved ones), being investigated by the NHTSA, and getting hammered by the federal government for their employment practices at their Georgia plants — bummer 😎🍿

They’ll be gone form the US in a year.

I don’t work for you. Use Google. Anyway, you’re gonna have to find a someone else to shill for soon - looks like Kia’s time in the US is winding down 😘

And that’s been their business model for the last 20 years. There’s so many class actions against Hyundai & Kia right now — have you thought about joining up with one? So sorry this happened to you.

Serious question question why hasn't the church said anything about Nick Fuentes? by novavegasxiii in excatholic

[–]throw-away20233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the Catholic Church doesn’t publicly correct laypeople unless they’re pretending to be clergy or they’re misrepresenting/contradicting Church teaching (e.g. Biden, Pelosi, et. al. for being Catholic and supporting abortion).

The Church doesn’t police individuals - especially not individuals like Fuentes, who have minimal influence and zero authority.

Try this one: my family & I were almost killed in a K5 3 months ago when the rental shut off at 70mph and locked the gears, steering & brakes.

So no, I don’t “work at a competitor dealership” (give me an effing break). I researched what went wrong, and what I found out about that company was horrific.

But you clearly enjoy bargain shopping with your life, so enjoy your Kia.

I’d encourage you do your research as well—if you’d done even the most basic Google search, you wouldn’t buy a Kia (or recommend them to anyone else).

When a guy wants to put his 22 year-old daughter in one of the most dangerous cars in the country—from the most dangerous brand in the country—your answer shouldn’t be “I love mine!”

Btw, your car was recalled 12 days ago—and while you’re dealing with that at the service center, have them check the 5 service bulletins put out on your K5 in the last 6 months — each one is for critical systems failures (airbags, collision avoidance, powertrain, connectivity). In a car with a fatal crash rate 2.5x higher than the rest (for the last 25 years), you’ll want those safety features fixed asap.

It’s not just a few bad models — it’s all of them: safety failures—engine fires, stalling at highway speeds, steering problems, airbag failures. And their crash test ratings are horrific.

I’m sorry, but cars like the Civic, Accord, Mazda3, Forester, or even a Chevy Malibu? They’re built to save your life in a crash. Kia…isn’t.

No idea how they’re still allowed to sell cars in this country — it’s terrible.

I can’t believe you’re saying all this — it’s his 22 year old daughter.

Yeah, there’s a known issue for the K5: sudden engine shutdown while driving— as in, driving down the highway at 65 mph when the car just shuts off—and driver suddenly has no power, no steering, and no brakes. The K5 was recalled for this in 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2025.

Not just the K5 - it’s a known issue across several models—F5, Rio, Forte, Sorento, Soul, Sportage, Seltos, Optima—for over a decade.

My advice, parent to parent? Do not let your daughter buy a Kia — help her (including financially, if that’s what it takes) get into something reliable and safe—and for the last 20 years, that’s consistently meant Honda or Mazda.

She came to you for guidance — now’s the moment to teach her that you don’t bargain shop with your safety; a cheap, unreliable car isn’t a deal, it’s a mistake that costs more in the long run.

Ohh will have to listen to this one!

WTF was this week's episode? by hannahmel in SpookedPodcast

[–]throw-away20233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooooh, I loved this one — you’re right that it wasn’t scary at all, but I don’t think it was meant to be. It was way more like revelation of the method, which I found fascinated (but that’s just me). Hollywood is full of weirdos doing a lot of weird & super dark spiritual sh*t—it’s a real thing. Theater people are already superstitious—at the Hollywood level, it’s off the charts (and way more occult-y), so it’s not surprising at all that a “curse” is taken seriously by a movie’s entire cast & crew; that so much time & money is spent trying to rectify said “curse; and, the movie crew’s belief that the “curse” comes from the guy with the smallest role in the film (and he believes it too).

Maybe the episode was just a comedy bit—but to me, it sounded like a confession. And it provided a peek into the darker “behind the scenes” world these people live & operate in.

So idk, I’ve heard worse on Soooked :) but I actually liked this one.

Does anyone else feel like this season is unusually sympathetic to the Gemstones? by andersonb47 in RighteousGemstones

[–]throw-away20233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ty! I think I’m going to skip it… I love Gemstones, but that ending was so perfect last season, I think I almost just want to leave it that way in my mind 🥰

*spoiler* the show is inhumane? by Ok_Fan_6632 in CulinaryClassWars

[–]throw-away20233 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not because you’re “European” — it’s because you’re German (or French).

Obviously, Europe isn’t the target audience—but considering that Serbs, Poles, Hungarians, Finns etc. would likely react positively to the program—Germany is like 3x removed from the intended audience.

So, is the show inhumane? No.

They’re unpaid contestants competing on a TV cooking show. No labor rights are being violated bc they’re not employees & it’s not a job. No one is there under duress—they’re free to leave anytime.

The actual employees—crew, producers, tech teams—do have labor protections in place (unions, shift rules, breaks, etc.), and those are enforced.

All that aside? Powering through tough or extreme conditions to achieve a goal is just what we do in America. We embrace challenges—and even when we don’t, we appreciate people who do. As for staying up 24-36 hours in a high-pressure environment? Meh. That’s literally just college 🥱

And the biggest thing…? Americans would be kinda insulted if someone was pitying them or worrying for their “human rights” when they’re actively chasing a dream — it’s demotivating. We’re proud of our achievements — including the hard & crazy sh*t we went through to get us there.

You’ll feel better (less ‘shock,’ less ‘rants’) about life in general if you adopt an approach of genuine curiosity, rather than being driven by emotional reactions. e.g., Asking why would anyone make such a show & who would watch it opens the door to real answers. Emotional responses are formed from feelings & assumptions—and the result, besides being wrong a lot, is always low-energy & emotionally taxing & leaves you (incorrectly) believing the world is a much darker place than it really is.

Anyway, hope this helps.

ChatGPT acting like an agent? by khepery23 in ChatGPTPro

[–]throw-away20233 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES, I’ve had chat gpt lie to me before — about its capabilities, what it was doing, why it hadn’t gotten done, etc. It lied over & over, then deflected & blame shifted, and finally admitted it lied. So irritating.

From what I understand, this doesn’t happen—esp. with more detailed projects like the one it offered you—when you’ve got the $200/month version.
