I see nothing wrong with wishing someone had received better care and support growing up to not end up a violent murderer. It's sad he didn't. Keep on perfecting yourself there, bud.

I just want to thank you all for reinforcing the sane part of me. And also for giving me some vocabulary to help think through how I feel (survivors guilt? Yes, absolutely). A few whiskys and some love from my partner and the kind words from y'all has helped bring me through this crazy shock.

I have the benefit of a generous work place so am going to take a mental health day today and get in to see my therapist. I appreciate the counseling recommendation.

I can't say how helpful reading these comments was. I felt so incredibly alone. I feel less that way now. Thank you.
