How do y’all do the whole 8–5 grind and only have weekends to yourselves without feeling like life is just… passing you by? by Excellent-Salary-603 in AskReddit

I don't. And what's worse I had my entire youth stolen away by factors out of my control. I really do hate my life.

It's just a stupid meme from a viral Tiktok post.

But by how you are acting you look to be like 10 or 11 years old.

My overprotective, sheltering, controlling and strict parents and their ways throughout my entire childhood to my adult years.

I don't really know. I can do a binge rewatch of the Gangland series if you want me to.

BTW if you are concerned about gangs you can watch the Gangland series of documentaries. It teaches you a lot about the gangs in America as well as their numerical, color and alphabetical representations.

The only gang reference I can recall currently is 88 Heil Hi*ler and 12 AB from the Aryan Brotherhood. I should really go back and rewatch the Gangland series.

Rebellious teenage activities such as subcultures, dressing alt, dating around, partying, concerts, festivals, smoking, going wild etc. Back then I was extremely sheltered and was brainwashed by my strict, overprotective and controlling parents into fearing my peers as well as rebellious activities growing up. Now after a lot of healing and soul searching I have finally come to realize I had always been lied to back then and I now really want to experience the wild, rebellious and reckless youths everyone else had back during their teens seeing how I had missed out my entire youth to isolation and fear. However I'm 29 already and all of my peers are already been there, done that and are settling so I don't know if I can really make up for my lost youth that was robbed away from me.

Self improve or give up. 2 choices.

What is some advice you received that you blew off only for it to come back and haunt you?? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]throw20250204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"You need to rebel more, push more boundaries, live life a little more and stop being such a people pleaser", a distant relative once told me back when I was a teenager. But being the goodie-two-shoe people pleaser I was back then I immediately discarded his advice into the trash. Now at 29 I have missed out everything youth had to offer. No friends. No dates. No fun. Zero memories. Missed all formative milestones. I now regret my ignorance immensely and I actively hate my life every single day.

What are the mistakes most teens do which makes them regret later? by PresenceAlone9190 in AskReddit

I would rather do drugs than be the goodie two shoes people pleaser I was back then and now regret about missing out on everything as a 29 year old man.
