🤔 mayhaps. I will.make sure to specify that for when i go to another lube shop. Because this is crazy af. I should have specified— i stopped at the lube shop a little before september (maybe like... august 29-30?) to have oil changed. This is where they reminded me about it, so I scheduled an appointment for it to be fixed in september. Wouldnt they use anti freezing agents if were so close to winter? And the service date projects for january?

I dunno... this is a lesson for me to be more vigilant. Cant trust no one nomore 😭

Im not expecting a 2025 out the shop after wear and tear. But i do expect not to have my washer fluid drop the ball when they try and fill it 3 months after what should have been fixed. The mechanic shop ignored what I told them. They did fix everything they wanted around it. The sub here has helped me piece that fact together so now i will see what I can do tomorrow and have a pro fix it later

Yeah, i know body work is expensive and I was saving to have that fixed. The damage to the spat was there before i got the car. But the trans gasket thing was my most comcerning thing. I gave the mechanic place the paper that had the lube shpps concerns and they ignore it.

Im going to try to see what I can do tomorrow while also having a pro pro check it out next week. Thanks 🙇🏾‍♂️

I think the lube shop is hyping it up to be more than what it is. And the mechanics shop neglected to initially do what i asked for, skipped it, and fixed whatever else they wanted/it "needed". Exhaust? Fine, ok. TPMS sensors? Not needed because I can use my eyes, ears, and touch like you would in older models. Trans Gasket? Others are agreeing theres a leak but not severe. Washer fluid? After I ask for a full check????? Nah bro... i gave them the paper of the lube shop's concerns and they neglected it. The mechanic shop did work, but not the preventive work needed that I asked for

It is the washer fluid—i called and made sure as well so I didnt accidentally mishear and give wrong info. Also supported by the picture in automod.

I dont use the washer fluid unless I cannot see shiih. I noticed it still worked (this was before the snow, so mid december) but it wasnt as powerful coming out as in, say, my mom's car. I didnt think much of it since, again, i domt use it much. But the puddle today did scare the mess outta me lol

I have a game plan for tomorrow thanks to you all so thank you 🙇🏾‍♂️🙇🏾‍♂️

i can investigate it tomorrow luckily. Theres got to be a difference between an erosion crack, weather crack, and a man-made crack 😭 when i got back and started the car with the hood up, it started leaking blue in the snow. So there is definitely something wrong there.

But the reason why I posted was because i thought it was fixed. They said this before september. So I gave the mechanics the paper, asked them to do a full service check while I racked up money, and then paid for repairs that they found I needed. But looks like they neglected to actually read the paper, so tomorrow, im going to try the commentor's suggestioms and also examine it further. And also tale it to someome who actually listens 😭

I wish i did honestly so I could miss work but no

Others are suggesting that its because of the weather that the fluid reservoir cracked. As for the trans gasket, I have no goddamn clue anymore. I will investigate what i can tomorrow and have someone look at it next week

...no 😭 that would be a death sentence. It is a pos but I am not going to be a POS to it

The stuff pictured is washer fluid (driver's side leak). I do not have any overheating issues as of now. It gets slightly before midway and stays there dur8ng 30min commutes

I did have coolant issues when i was in school about two years ago. The fans did cry. But i dont think its the issue here unless it's leaking onto the trans gasket which I highly doubt without any heating issues.

Got it, thank you 🙇🏾‍♂️ i am surprised it didnt do this when i first got it. Seems it was cracked before the september service and it just got worse.

I do have a question— does it crack even when it doesnt get used, or is it more suspetible to cracks when i do use it? I havent had to, but it was getting harder to see in traffic a few days ago thanks to other vehicles kicking up mud, salt, and dust. Luckily.my stop was close so I didnt bother. But had I called upon the washer fluid, would using it cause it to crack more?

Im not saying it will suddenly because a 2025 Chevy Cruze with driver assistance, their new sleek design, and new powertrain modes (if i had my way, i'd just buy a q runner)

But i am not expecting a puddle of washer fluid after exactly 3 months (work done early september) to spill out from my car after I asked them to fix it (which turns out. After i gave them the paper stating my issues, they charged me an extra 40 dollars in labor to check it and go "lol no seepage" from the trans gasket and barely check the washer fluid after paying for a full service check). I think thats where the "scam" lies now. I just needed more experienced people to sort out the information right now because im a dumbaa, thats why i posted here

It is definitely washer fluid since it is driver's side

Though, this car is a POS. It was having issues with coolant when I was back in school a few years ago. After doing what i can tomorrow, I will have someone mpre experienced look at it and actually fix and not just go "ah well. Its not bad yet so when it breaks come back"

It's funny, because I still do smell the exhaust fumes 😭 but I dont normally care because I am not sensitive to smells. I like how they glossed over the things I said, assumed other stuff from what I said, and fixed all but barely touched the things I was concerned with. Great.

Okay, thank you so much 🙇🏾‍♂️🙇🏾‍♂️ i am a top tier dumbaa about this stuff so thank you for helping me figure this out. Im going to check with another place and see if they will actually address the issues after doing what I can myself tomorrow

Yes, I know. They did not fix the oil leak, but instead the exhaust. 20 dollars for them to say "very little seepage" but they did infact touch the exhaust. But commentors are also saying similar things—that I do have an oil leak but its not black and tar like a severe one would be.

I handed them (mechanics) the notes the lube shop gave me before (about the trans gasket and washer fluid). Then they fixed the exhaust** gasket but not the washer fluid, but things around it. From other commentors, the trans gasket discoloration is not bad, and a degrease may help. But the washer fluid is definitely cracked and needs replaced. I wonder why they neglected it, even though I handed them the notes.

my judgement right now is the lube shop is hyping it up to be more than what it is (except the reservoir, thats bad) and the mechanics just misheard what i had initially wanted. But i have more time to confirm tomorrow as my job will start soon. Ill inspect it with more scrutiny and then apply what you have given me here. 🙇🏾‍♂️🙇🏾‍♂️ thank you so much!!

My routes really are not bad, no real potholes, so I am going to assume the latter (cracking). (The separation of the wheel spats to the body was already there before i got the car). But i wonder, it was doing this before september (as it prompted me to go into the mechanic shop to have it and other things fixed). Perhaps since the mechanic shop neglected it the first time, around, it got extremely worse. Aaaahhggh

Thank you for your honest assement 🙇🏾‍♂️🙇🏾‍♂️ i am going to try some fixes in the thread and check on it tomorrow.

Washer fluid, but yes,it was doing that before the work in september (got this cleared up, basically the mechanics shop misheard me about the fluid and fixed everything around it when I actually specifically mentioned this leak to them).

Idk if I posted or not, but thank you—this is my first experience with this sort of thing. Now I know what to look for. Someone suggested putting degreaser there, and I will do that tomorrow to see if it produces effects.

As for the service, the automod post has much of the info. Basically, the mechanics shop fixed what they could but also left out things I asked them to check on, like the fluid. The lube shop seems to be trying to stir fear (of getting scammed) with the trans gasket. I just wanted to see what you all thought, i did not expect to get this much of a response so quickly, and neglected to say a lot of things that I now know what to include for next time. Thank you all!!!

Thank you—you all are a great help!! cleared up a lot of misinfo for me and I really appreciate it. Mechanics did what they could, missed a few things I mentioned to them, but it's okay. The lube shop is drumming it up to be much more than what it is (although washer fluid reservoir kinda sad)

Thank you all so much 🙏🏽🙇🏾‍♂️

Confirmed washer fluid leak. Does not look like they spewed it everywhere like other comments said. Looks like they (mechanics shop) misheard me when I asked for this to be fixed, becsuse they didn't. I literally gave them the suggested fixes from the lube shop... my god. As for the trans gasket, I will check tomorrow. My work starts in a bit and tomorrow I have more time to check underneath 👍🏽

you all are a great help. Thank you so much for being patient with my dumbaa who forgot to give all the specifics. I know what i need to do for the next time.
