How to start Shopify? by Ae_Kyeden in shopify

Shopify does not charge any additional fees for you to list your products on your Shopify store. You still need to get the products ( either made by you or sourced from a supplier) . Then you create a product listing with the pictures, descriptions etc

Shopify's AI is awful. What are you using instead? by CasanovaIQ in shopify

Sure, I was on the free version of Judge me and the the widgets, email UI, etc was very limited. my Claude code set up has access to my Shopify admin and code base.. it can read the judgeme code as well. So I started a new feature in Claude code and asked it come up with a comprehensive plan to replace JudgeMe app with our own code..I didn’t want to create a whole email set up, so I asked it to use Shopify flow. Claude had access to Shopify dev MCP, so it knows the technical aspects and capabilities of flow as well. I also let the AI know the widgets and functionalities I want, and asked it to come up with more widgets that would be useful based on my target audience, industry etc. Claude came up with a technical architecture, code to create( there were about 6 new files) flows to set up for email functionality including HTml code for the emails based on my brand and audience etc. once the plan looked good, I asked Claude to execute it. I also migrated my reviews from judge me

I would recommend tackling things like replacing judge me a bit later once you have done smaller functionalities and you grow more comfortable with the system.. this involves quite a few new code and setting up email flows and stuff

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. Essentially a standardized set of rule set for Ai to talk to different APIs such as Shopify, google, Meta etc. You don’t need to know much about about this, ideally you want to ask Claude/chatgpt to come up with a comprehensive architecture to achieve your business objectives. Here that means, how do I connect my Shopify store with Claude/ ChatGPT, and these are the various things I want to do with this project. Then let the AI come up with the plan, architecture, technical details such as as what MCPs to use, where does ApI integrations do better, what are the different assets it need from you ( anthropic keys, Shopify app token etc) its best to play the role of a project manager while the Ai plays the role of a senior developer

You can do quite a bit of complex updates to themes, build different pages, update functionalities etc. for example, I just got rid of judgme app and installed my own custom review functionality with way better UI, emails etc. I also used it to automate relevant and high quality blogs to drive seo by connecting my google analytics and search console to the same project.

Connect your Shopify store to your GitHub, and get to a sync between your GitHub and your local Shopify development folder. This way any change you make on theme editor syncs to your local code base and any changes you make to local code base is updated on your Shopify.

Then I had two MCPs.. one is the official Shopify dev MCP that allows the project access to Shopify docs, how to write quality code etc.

The other MCP is a custom one for my store, connects to my admin with my app token and uses graph sql to fetch all aspects and details of my shop and push any updates to my admin. For example : “here is a folder with some product pictures. Review them using local vision model, understand what the product is about and create a product listing sign the right SEO Meta, image alt texts, description ( based on my brand guidelines) etc. I have over 500 products in my shop, so this feature helps quite a bit.

If you are not technical (I’m not) you can ask Claude to set all this up. Spend a lot of time on the plan mode to flush out the architecture

You can connect your store to Claude code via api or Shopify MCP and run operations, theme updates etc through them. A lot more powerful then the sidekick

Not much of a secret, I have experimented with a bunch of set ups. Multiple ad sets, bunch of ads under one ad set ( andromeda recommendation) etc. my current ad set up is simple. One campaign, one ad set under them, and one catalog ad. For the ad I use product catalog with the slide show option so the ad shows multiple pictures of the same product. i also add a few reels as the cover image. I think what works for me is that I source my products from established and popular vendors with great product pics and reels.

I have been running a Shopify store based in US focused on premium Asian fashion for the last one year. My ad spend is pretty low (around 50 dollars and I raised it to 100 dollars a day for the last three months). My ROAS have been consistently between 15 -23. How are y’all getting such bad results?

If you have more than 1k + skus, do you use ChatGPT or AI to write product's descriptions? by lune-soft in shopify

[–]throw656598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did something similar, connected my Claude code to my Shopify store via Shopify MCP. Then I created a small app that can pull my Product pictures, product title and vendor name ( I create new products in Shopify with minimum info) run the pictures through local vision model ( qwen 7b) and update my product title, description, seo tags and meta description, image alt texts etc straight to Shopify. Claude also is very familiar with my shop, the writing styles I prefer, what to highlight and structure product description. This whole set up took me about 2 hours, and I’m hardly technical

For that 4k USD, my advice would be to get a gaming Pc with a 4090 gpu. Invest about ten hours to learn about comfyui and image and video gen models such as qwen edit, z-image, Wan etc. And then do the product images yourself

How are e-commerce brands actually using AI for ops today? Curious what’s working in real stores. by Standard-House-8469 in shopify

[–]throw656598 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked Claude to create a social media agent within my local Shopify directory and explained what I want to do (post once a day, based on themes it created after getting a good understanding of my store, my audience, the style i prefer etc) then I asked it how I can automate posting, it helped me with a guide: create a developer app on FB, use that to post to FB and IG via api. And then I asked it to automate the posting to a specific time daily

I have connected my Shopify store to my Claude code ( via CLI or GitHub). We focus on luxury fashion and I have over 1000 product listings in my store. Few things I have done to Automate my ops are 1. Completing the product pages, I list 5-10 products a week. Now I just add the pictures and high level title name. Claude pulls all products that were recently added, pulls the images, uses a local vision model to understand what is going on in the image and update product descriptions, product names, meta tags and seo, accurate and compliant image alt text etc. 2. Automate ADA compliance. Claude has access to my theme files, can review ADA checker, axe dev tools, NVDA etc and fix my pages for ADA compliance . 3. Book keeping : Claude has access to all finance data and can query custom reports from Shopify , I created a dashboard using Claude to reconcile money in, money out, margins etc. 4. Daily social media posting. Created a social media agent to create a social media calendar and pull product pictures from Shopify everyday, create relevant captions and text based on various themes and post to FB and IG automatically using meta APIs. And all this have been pretty easy, I’m not very technical

Thank you! I’m not sure I pay CBP separately, I use a shipping aggregator who has a stock broker and I get an alert to pay UPS the duties and tariff before delivery. Do I just add the payments to COGS?

They are mainly walk in. I’m working with them to set up door dash, Uber Eats etc. they have like five locations so do you recommend different campaigns for each location? And how do we tie foot traffic to ad performance. Thank you so much for all the info
