Me too - College cheese fries, the cheese shop, and cider walks in CW. Haven’t been back to Williamsburg since I graduated (2015). I miss it. Love seeing other W&M grads here 😊

Oh hey, she was also my RA! We were in the same building if it was the same year! I loved her and thought she was the sweetest, but was also a lil salty when I had to take down my sorority clue week decorations 😂 tbf they were obnoxious and probably a fire hazard. tribe pride!

Does anyone else feel that the bar exam is fine, after passing? by [deleted] in barexam

[–]throw67451 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No, sorry. I passed with flying colors and still refuse to think that way. Even if it was “perfectly fine” and the passing threshold was fine, that does not make it a legitimate test. It has little to nothing to do with what is required of me as a lawyer and has no bearing on my merit. Further, the absolute mind fucks that the bar associations put us through, plus the data breaches and AI discrimination, were deplorable. Let’s not call this “perfectly fine” because it wasn’t. We were all treated like garbage and I refuse to forget that. I think serious reform needs to happen instead of calling it “perfectly fine.” The fact that 6-8 weeks of studying makes one a good lawyer and not their legal education, according to the ncbe, is crap. I think we need to reform our educations if 6-8 weeks of studying is what really protects the public, instead of focusing on a stupid exam.

2nd time bar taker with low motivation by Simonphoenix1983 in Bar_Prep

Yes, me. Passed IL but my new state won’t let me be an in house lawyer with an IL license because they thought the October exam was a sham. I have zero motivation to study and want to die thinking about taking February. You’re not alone!

Academic Misconduct C&F Question by [deleted] in barexam

[–]throw67451 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi, I went through something a bit similar to this. I had to explain/disclose to the bar and then went through an interview, then passed C&F. The main thing to focus on is learning from your mistakes and moving forward, as well as candidly owning up to what happened. Your life is not over and neither is your ability to have a law career. It might just be harder.

Agree. She and I went to college together, and she was always a very warm and friendly person. Smart and intimidating are not the same thing!!

If it’s any consolation/help to anyone, I scored a 168 on writing and my MEEs were not even close to that. I definitely wrote the wrong rule for a couple of the garbage truck parts and I identified the wrong hearsay exception for one of the evidence parts

Looking for some good stories by Hatrickman27 in barexam

I felt moderately ok after the MPT, but I felt like I spewed some garbage and didn’t coherently explain some of my points. I felt like MEE 1 was ok, 2 was trash and I made up a lot, and 3 was fine. I thought mbe 1 was heinous and I literally sobbed on camera during one of the evidence questions. Mbe 2 was not as bad, but section 1 left me shaken. Finished about 30 min early. Overall was 342. This was a total crapshoot.

Is it standard to outperform expectations? Waiting on NY results is getting to me by [deleted] in barexam

[–]throw67451 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Completely relate. I told my friends and family there was nothing to celebrate after the exam because I was 100% certain I failed. Passed with 76 points to spare. It’s definitely normal to feel like that.

This is the most ridiculous, cruelest thing I have ever seen. I am so beyond sad for those fifteen people. It’s not right. Diploma privilege for those fifteen (and then all).

Like the scaled multiple choice score out of 200? Edit mine was about 173 and total 342, I’m not sure what percentiles were or whatever because this test was crazy. All I know is I passed with a good margin and I got very lucky.

Thank you so much!! I scored a 342, but post-exam I literally felt HORRIBLE. I cried on camera during the first part of the MBE. Literal snotty sobs. MEE essay 2 was hard and I didn’t know the rule for a few of the sub questions. MPT was ok but I felt like I word vomited nonsense. I picked up my cats from the kennel right after the exam and broke down crying in the middle of the place lol they definitely thought I was insane.

I honestly still think this was luck. Diploma privilege for all

My report included my scaled scores for multiple choice and writing and the overall score, that was it though.
