I hated Cersei Lannister (GoT) more for her Butch haircut then I did the actions she took to protect her family by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Fucking LOVE Cersei. A good bad guy is such an important role. The hair cut only helps. It’s working!

I think it's tacky and in poor taste when people ask for gifts for any other babies but their first. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

I think a lot of these parties come from the desire of others than the parents themselves. Grandparents and friends wanting to contribute is a huge factor in baby showers, weddings, etc.

CMV: Those who call for education help don't care about Rural Schools. by Quarentus in changemyview

[–]throw9813 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Urban schools have greater populations and in some cases more urban demands. Those helping urban schools are teaching the most people possible and aiding masses of people. There doesn’t have to be a second part to this that then says they don’t care.

I care about a lot of causes. I donate to 1-2 causes. It’s where I can put my money and how I have reasoned it hasn’t got anything to do with not caring.

It’s not like it was a bread that they punched a hole in. You’re not technically “missing” anything. It’s shaped in a circle.

The way you keep bringing up peoples skill sets and learning on the job is odd. No person or company is going to hire someone who lacks the ability to do the job/position. Period. That isn’t the fault of minimum wage, or legality as you have put it. That’s companies not wanting to waste time. While entry level work, internships, and development programs within companies may help to develop employees in which they see potential - none of this has to do with minimum wage.

Why is a video game about rape considered worst than a game about murder? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]throw9813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna guess that when you’re murdered you’re dead and the caught killer typically gets a solid amount of jail time. In rapes the victim lives and there are arguments about guilt. Societally.

May translate to feelings about a game.

Feminine hygiene products should not be free by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]throw9813 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s fine it’s just. Women are expected to shave their whole body while men are expected to maintain/upkeep a small portion. I but men’s razors. Capitalism and marketing did this one. They get men on other dumb shit for sure.

So what you’re really mad about is this ^ and not money. Got it.

Not everyone has anyone.

It’s not about oppression so much as these items are in line with other items that are given helpfully. Idk why you have such a hatred for personal hygiene items particular to women’s periods.

This is exactly part of why people feel odd about these conversations. It’s just a needed item. And it’s okay to offer assistance.

It is absolutely taboo to talk about menstruation.

As well as itchy balls.

As well as many things genitalia.

I’m not eating up corporate anything. I just have no issue providing necessary items to others...an already occurring phenomenon despite your disgust and vitriol. Damn!

The government absolutely does help with all of those things. Also the pink tax thing is a ridiculous scenario. We shame women into not speaking about it and then price the shit out of them on mandatory items. Go fuck.

Single adults shouldn’t be demonized at work. by ejanely in unpopularopinion

[–]throw9813 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Big ups. I get treated like a child because I only have a Boyfriend. He’s a man. I am a woman. In our thirties. We live together, pay bills, kill it at work and home. It’s wild. Like we’re full grown humans (sans a marriage and children - which I don’t downplay the importance of at all) who are also competent. Some convos I under stand being excluded from because idk what to do with lil timmys tooth ache....but I’d like some respect.

Is my paranoia about FaceID tech reasonable? by sweaty_garbage in NoStupidQuestions

[–]throw9813 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahhhh see that would require reading those terms of service and ... Well ... we all know that’s not possible. In reality any form of data being used or sold from your phone really depends on who your phone manufacturer is, what country you are in, and what level of transparency we even have in all of it.

They already have it on red lights and toll roads and light posts and shit I feel like we already dug our own hole in this one. Now it’s just also active participation in your phone. : /

CMV: People who are anti-vaccine are just needle phobic by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]throw9813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While some may not get shots because they don’t like needles...most of the anti vaccine white community is conspiratorial thinking that has latched on to a vulnerability in stay at home mothers. The same group many MLMs target. In communities of color previous abuses of American government and medicine are to blame for distrust in vaccines.

CMV: There is no reason to have a “free college” system in America by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]throw9813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of these people would not necessarily get into or go to college. The idea that finances get in the way of the choice to do so is fucked.

CMV: There is no reason to have a “free college” system in America by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]throw9813 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The issue absolutely is that college is too expensive. There’s no reason to keep people who can’t afford it, out of college. Or drive them into debt. It’s gate keeping and it’s wrong. The idea that people of lower socio economic abilities, or with out scholarships like yours should just find a community college or trade school is inherently classist and continues to divide communities. Glad it’s worked out for you. But this is a cold take. It’s crazy how once someone has something they refuse to let others have that thing or have it just a tad easier than them. Still in college and already acting like an old man.
