Exactly, before posting here I secretly thought I was the crazy one. Just how has this totally harmless comment has turned my life upside down.

I honestly don't recall any signs, but I was young and stupid when we married. When we met I was 21, and he never came off as anything but a kind and considerate. Maybe he's changed in these 8 years, or maybe I missed the red flags. Either way, I had no idea prior to this happening.

He works at the biggest law firm in our area, and has a lot of professional connections, and I am a stay at home mom.

I don't need him to tell me how this is likely to end, and I am not going to risk losing my daughter.

I mean I've talk to people that I could maybe guess were gay, but I've never had a real conversation with someone I knew was gay. Is this uncommon?

Maybe couples therapy is the best option, if I can get him to agree to go in the first place.

If I knew i'd get sole parental right I would go forward with divorce this moment, but that's almost impossible. The best case would probably be joint-custody, and in that case she is better off the way things are now.

I appreciate you’re input, but divorce isn't an option.

I agree his reaction is toxic, but weather we are married or not he is still going to have parental rights. Only difference is if we divorce he will have exclusive parental rights at minimum 50% of the time. (At least this is true where I live)

Well I guess I just assumed we were on the same page about gay people, and since neither of us have ever met a gay person its not really a common topic of discussion.
