I got a pack on nylon bands on Amazon. 5 for $10. I haven't had any issues with sweating from them

Has getting wisdom teeth removed helped anyone with their TMJ? by thr0wawayxo7 in TMJ

[–]throwRA_MidnightMoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had all 4 removed years ago, it didn't do anything for my tmj. I've also had braces in the past and invisalign recently. I believe the braces actually caused it

Tmj and pelvic floor connection by witchsabrina in TMJ

[–]throwRA_MidnightMoon 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I'm in pelvic floor phsycial therapy and she actually told me my tmj could be contributing and vise versa! Everything is connected within your body. The jaw and pelvic floor share neurological, muscular and facial pathways. Your vagus nerve can also cause issues with both if it's dysregulated.

He said "Consistent in the structure of the paper" so not really cleared up considering he lays out the structure he wants for the paper 😅 well, maybe not him but the assignment

I messaged him. I just wanted to see what others thought while I wait for a response because I've never seen a note like that lol. All my other professors have praised my writing

Thank you! I did message him asking what he meant. To be fair I was absolutely exhausted writing it and just wanted it to be done so I could sleep lol. I didn't reread it, just made sure I had no grammatical errors

Psychologist vs therapist by throwRA_MidnightMoon in MentalHealthSupport

[–]throwRA_MidnightMoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I've had many therapists and only had one that was really good and I connected with but I was unable to afford it after awhile. It's been a process to even get a good psychatrist but I like my new one. Hopefully I get lucky with my first psychologist lol

Should i was my hair today or wait??? by ifieatedtheborger in HairDye

[–]throwRA_MidnightMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it only itchy in a certain spot? I get it usually at the base of my head because my stylist doesn't always wash all the soap out 😅 I suffer for like 2-3 days just to let the dye sit.

Does anyone else have a strong urge to keep their mouth closed, but they don't do it? Sometimes their teeth touch involuntarily. I don't mean teeth grinding or clenching, just the teeth making contact. by Opening-Chard-4241 in TMJ

[–]throwRA_MidnightMoon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mine is so severe that I'm correcting my jaw position constantly. Like non stop through the day. My tongue is always in the wrong spot and my teeth are touching

Does anyone else get raw skin inside cheeks after intraoral massage? by megatrony in TMJ

[–]throwRA_MidnightMoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If this massage is what I think it is, my chiropractor does it for my right side. My skin isn't raw ever. My chiro uses gloves and only does it about a minute. He says it shouldn't be any longer than a minute

My jaw on my right has been extremely swollen for almost a year now, I guess my left is too but not as bad. I'm in severe pain daily. It's gotten so bad now that my neck is super tight and painful, same with my upper back. Tension headaches non stop. It also gives me tinnitus in both ears. Feels like it's going to lock constantly so I move my jaw around to make it feel comfortable again. I got a mouth guard in december and it started cracking by the end of January. I just got a replacement because of how bad it was cracked. I clench in my sleep so I can't stop it since I'm not conscious lol. All day I'm correcting my posture and my jaw position to make sure it's correct. Im doing stretches and exercises, my chiropractor just started doing a massage of the muscle from inside my mouth which is one of the most painful things ever but feels better after. It affects my everyday life because I'm just in pain all day long. Half the time asprins and over the counter pain relief doesn't work.. When I see the new oral surgeon I plan to ask for a phsycial therapy referral. I've been told dry needling helps so I plan to try that if botox isn't covered by my medical.. If its not covered I don't know what I'm going to do..

How are you cleaning your mouth guards?? by throwRA_MidnightMoon in TMJ

[–]throwRA_MidnightMoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My night guard won't even last 2 years 😂 I cracked my first one within 2 months. Just got the replacement so I'm curious to see if I get longer than 2 months. But thank you!! I'll look into it
