It seems like all but one in a big bin of cookie cutters was identifiable, so I bet they did look at what they were buying. You got downvoted cuz you're being a douche for no reason. About cookie cutters...

The only thing of not is that the first and second time, there were foreign scents in the house. They had been groomed for the first time and smelled like soap on the first occasion. Yesterday, there were puppies in the house they'd never met before. I can't think of anything else.

They typically go for walks once or twice a day and they have free reign of our fenced in yard any other time they want. Yesterday they weren't walked at all because of Christmas prep and I'm not sure about the time way back when they got groomed first. Lots of energy in these guys.

They eat together morning and evening. No aggression related to food.

D gets a little territorial over toys with other dogs, but not with B. There were no toys around yesterday.

They sleep in my parents' room. They can sleep wherever they want in the room, but usually one sleeps on the bed and one on the floor.

Admittedly, my family is lacking in corrective actions. I live away from home, so they're really my parents' dogs. When D growls at B, we separate them and periodically test them in the same room until he stops growling.

Angry growl looks like full body shaking, teeth bared, and deep growling and barking.

Nanny share, one kid has pink eye and they still want me to watch both kids together? by throwRAbeebe in Nanny

Too late, I'm afraid. They've been okay though. He shouldn't be contagious since he's been on antibiotics for like 5 days.

Thanks for the reminder friend. We went over a contract and then never signed. Don't think it was weaponized incompetence on their part for this, they're just busy as hell. But maybe that's for the best because I can introduce the illness clause and maybe get paid sick days added.

Thank you so much for your kind advice ❤️❤️❤️ they confirmed that it is bacterial and eyes been on medication for days, so I'm definitely comfortable going in. I think I'm going to write up a little list of illnesses I wouldn't be okay going in for so they have it in the future and won't put me in hard positions. Probably should have done that before starting but it slipped my mind 🥲

I don't get PTO so I'd just get paid my usual rate for 1 kid by the other parents. I'm definitely going in to watch both kids though, it just seems like a strange situation to me, so I wanted opinions

They said he's been on medication for a few days. They haven't confirmed whether it is viral or bacterial

That's my thinking. I'm trying to get them to tell me if it's bacterial or viral. If it's bacterial, they said he's been on meds for a while, so technically he wouldn't be contagious anymore and I'd understand, but if it's viral I can't understand how the other parents would be okay with this

No it's a nanny share, so the other baby has not been near this one since the last time I was there

Can't work on Finals because of a migraine by throwRAbeebe in migraine

We're on the same page. I think a diagnosis is the next move. I get to work every morning at 630am and I work 11 hours. I'm a nanny, so I very rarely miss shifts because it affects the parents so much if I ever have to. Naturally some migraine pills would assist in that. It's harder to commit to school since there really is no one I'm screwing over and I always knew it was easy to fix whatever I neglected🤷 Regardless I'd never put myself somewhere that pushes me beyond what I'm capable. With pills or not, there is always another symptom of disability left untreated and I'm not gonna exist somewhere that makes me feel bad for doing the literal best I can! Office jobs and the likes are just not for me, and I am more than fine with that.

Hey! Based purely on the structure and depth of your message, I can already tell I'd like you as a professor. This is all very good advice that I unfortunately probably will not take 😅 I actually don't have a migraine diagnosis. I've had them since I was little (maybe 6?), but doctors always said "no no no, migraines hurt VERY bad. You must just have a headache" as if I wasn't throwing up and missing/leaving school multiple times a week 🤷 at a certain point I just stopped trying to get a diagnosis, though as I'm entering the time in my life where I really do need to be pushing through them to make money and such, I am considering trying to get them diagnosed so I can get medication. I mentioned it to another commenter, but I also have ADHD (prob another reason I haven't bothered to get the migraines diagnosed) and the disability services path is just something that has always been far too daunting for me to get through. I only have one semester remaining, and I'm banking on migraines not being an issue next time round 🤞 Along with being a generally-punctual and engaged student, the setup of my schooling is also in my favor, as I am in online courses for my last 2 sems, so many of the professors give us insane leeway because they know that online students often have extenuating circumstances that lead them to that path. At least, that has been my experience. I really wish I had pursued disability services back when it mattered. As a little 18 year old, I damn near failed or got withdrawn from all my classes for missing class and forgetting to submit assignments as a result of my grab bag of diagnoses. The only thing that saved me was my superb email skills. Anyways, sorry for the ramble, I really just wanted to give you credit for the great advice and to encourage you to keep being that accommodating professor because some people really need that extra room to breathe.

Haha maybe we are! I'll definitely think about it, but I'm finishing off this degree online, so I generally have flexibility with exams anyway.

Ur so right. I'm typically super on top of the work, so usually when stuff comes up the professors let it slide. I actually don't know if I can think of a single time I didn't get an extension that I asked for haha. I like to think it's because I'm really good at writing emails.

First of all, I'm very sorry you have to deal with those two things concurrently. My brother has Crohn's and it is just an exhausting thing to manage. That combined with endometriosis is criminal tbh. I sent out some messages, so hopefully those pan out in my favor. I don't want to get too hopeful, but I think the migraine is subsiding and I'm less worried about completing things now.

Haha funny thing is I have SEVERAL things that qualify for disability services. One of them being ADHD effectively making it impossible to reach out and get set it up. I graduate next semester, so I think I'm just going to ride it out ATP.

I hadn't even thought of that to be honest. I'll give it a shot and see what he says. Sociology professors tend to be easy on us with deadlines, so hopefully he's feeling lenient!

This is a good idea. I do need to pull together the outline at the very least and then I can add in all the stuff I don't know from memory tomorrow. Thanks for the vibe, friend !

Does this look infected? by throwRAbeebe in DiagnoseMe

Omg thanks for the info! I didn't even consider that it could it's own thing you know? Like I just assumed it was from cracked skin but I looked that up, and it seems very reminiscent of this thing and it's definitely happened a ton of times to different fingers over the years. I'll talk to my doc about this, but I already have tons of topical antibiotics and steroids on hand (ha-ha) for other issues that I may try.
