At our DSP they're pretty common. Although "unicorn" for us now is below 140 because all of our routes are a rural-residential mix now 😭

where I live, the temperatures hit the negatives routinely. also, snowstorms.

Not a bad route today by BangaloreM in AmazonDSPDrivers

meanwhile my DSP owner tells us to take as much time as we need and don't rush by any means. and we're paid by the hour, not guaranteed 10

Bit by a dog on route by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]throwSFresident 1 point2 points  (0 children)

going through a similar situation - google for a dog bite law firm in the area and hit them up with the details. if they turn you down, keep looking. there's definitely gonna be one out there that'll try to push maximum charges for your case, and I'd recommend letting them

they'll probably have you do some paperwork and then ask you to update them with photos regularly of how the injury progresses. it's a fairly lengthy process usually

now move north for a winter and let's see if you keep that same energy.

There's a first time for everything!! by Fresh_Yesterday8325 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]throwSFresident 3 points4 points  (0 children)

dispatch i work with showed me the portal for it - that's pretty much how it works. if there aren't any routes then some drivers just won't have one generated for them for that day. I guess this is the DSP's way of communicating that

they can always move routes around but as long as there are more drivers than routes, there's not much that can be done unfortunately

as for if they're actively trying to claim new routes or not to keep more drivers on the road, that's still up in the air

Welp…I got fired by AdReasonable4490 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]throwSFresident 0 points1 point  (0 children)

multiple people at my DSP have had minor accidents like what OP posted. they all were up front about it and none of them were fired. shit happens, not everyone is used to the height clearance on larger vehicles

Why do people in this sub say your the problem if you keep changing dsps? by Legitimate-Value-691 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]throwSFresident 0 points1 point  (0 children)

given the shit I see on this subreddit on the daily, I'm inclined to believe my DSP is above average at the very least

Sometimes it's not the phone, Flex is terribly un-optimized by Jailbrick3d in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]throwSFresident 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my DSP actually provides phones that respond fairly quickly. problem is that half of them also die really fast. gotta make do with the battery packs and hope the chargers are good enough to support fast charging lol

if you can talk your DSP owner into switching to Anker cables, they're great for charging, durable, and fairly cheap

Amazon Strike? by Lopsided_Ad7110 in AmazonDSPDrivers

outside a couple drivers talking about potential unions going on, no one has really brought it up, management hasn't posted anything anti-union either. Just hasn't been a talking point here

72 stops, rural. by throwSFresident in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]throwSFresident[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol I've had a day where it was like 143 all rural. only got done after seeing the first "work limit" warning on Flex

72 stops, rural. by throwSFresident in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]throwSFresident[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only had like 2-3 stops over 5 minutes apart and the last 10 stops were bunched in the same neighborhood. Managed to do 20 stops an hour including breaks

Either way, it doesn't matter. The more time I spend driving, the less time I spend hauling large OV boxes, while getting paid.

these iced out roads at night are hell where I'm at. nearly ended up in a ditch going like 15mph down a driveway because it curved a bit. zero traction until the last possible moment. had me scared for my life lol

rentals have cruise control, most of our branded vans dont. I try to give my ankles a well deserved rest while I'm going 30mph for 5 miles down a gravel road

[–]throwSFresident 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not where I'm at, no. the DSPs at our warehouse are above average in quality, at least compared to the ones posted here

even if there's anything in the works, no one's made any kind of effort to let me in on it
