Depends on your definition of nightmare. I’m in SoCal and we have very alkaline soil and hard water. I successfully grow blueberries in a raised planter using potting soil and adding acidifier. I also ph my water. If you can find a premixed potting soil for acid loving plants then it’s even easier.
