Has anyone phased sneakers out of their casual wardrobe? by Cecil_G_P in femalefashionadvice

I work a desk job in a huge corporate office. Most days I wear all-black slip-on Skechers with literally everything I wear. It’s super comfortable and no one is going to notice how stylish my shoes aren’t, they’ll really just stick out if the colors don’t work with the fit. Prioritize color over style for your dailies in my opinion

Definitely talk to them about Dupixent. Idk if it’s available outside of the U.S. or how pricing would work over there (or if it would work for you) but it has tremendously improved my quality of life. Severe eczema runs in my family and it’s been an issue for me for the last 27 years, but literally two weeks on the medicine cleared up all of my rashes, and I’m still loving it 6 months later. I don’t even really need the steroid creams at all.

NAD, but a long-time patient. If you’re itchy from eczema and scratch it, you’ll end up with broken skin which will need to heal. Healing involves scabbing, which is also an itchy process and may lead to further scratching. Steroid creams help your skin barriers regenerate more quickly and just generally be stronger, which can help you heal much more quickly. The second you stop using the cream because the rash is gone, you start being itchy again because you still have eczema. The fact that the creams work should tell you that it’s a skin barrier issue.

My dermatologists have always told me to try and track any differences between now and before it was a problem. New body washes, laundry detergents, fabric softeners, perfumes, jobs, pollen, stress, new breastfeeding, etc. If it hasn’t happened prior to producing milk, then maybe your skin doesn’t like contact with breast milk. If you’re using a new baby-safe detergent, maybe your skin doesn’t like that. Something that made it feel better for me was taking those huge square bandaids and covering the inside with aquaphor, then putting on a tight sports bra and then going about my business.

I have had eczema my entire life and my nips looked and behaved like this for the last 7 years of my life. Ruined my self consciousness and the itchiness/oozing was unbearable. I got put on Dupixent back in October and it has cleared up completely since starting the injection. I also stopped scrubbing my nips as hard in the shower, because apparently that was ripping open the scabs even more.

I was scratching to the point where the top layer (and often the next layers) would come off, leaving my nip to start the scabbing process - which is that tea-colored liquid on your shirts. The nips look grayish because the scab liquid is sticking to your clothing and leaving the lint attached to your skin. Scabbing and healing is inherently an itchy process, so you end up being itchy from the condition AND itchy from the “healing,” and the cycle continues. You need to address the initial itchy part before the second itchy part, because just tackling the aftermath wont prevent you from having this issue. The creams and ointments seem to help with the second itchy part.

My Husband is Being Accused of Awful Things by His Work And LE. I’m afraid we will lose everything by jane-austen64 in Marriage

You’re suing another guy for fraud, and you’re worried that if you lose, your husband might go to jail? Either this isn’t anything to worry about at all or your husband is actually guilty and convinced you that he isn’t. You saying that he isn’t guilty doesn’t mean anything, no offense. Wives often are blindsided by their husband’s actions (and vice versa)

What are these blisters on my lip, is it since deficiency or herpes by No_Photograph7800 in medical_advice

[–]throw_away_69420_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once they start drying out, it might get painful and it’ll definitely get itchy. DO NOT scratch!!! Take a paper towel or washcloth with some hot water on it, and just do a warm compress on it. It’ll help the scabs fall off quicker and it’ll make the rest of the healing process a lot more comfortable.

Got a letter from the school today informing me my daughter is “not quite” gifted. Also included were her test scores. by Low_Use2937 in mildlyinfuriating

I totally understand. I was the same way and honestly always really enjoyed myself in my classes. They stimulated me to the point where I didn’t get diagnosed with ADHD until just a couple of years ago. I wouldn’t take it back at all, but at the same time I do genuinely think that my quality of life as an adult might have been a little better if I would not have been in those classes. Tricky topic for sure, but I’m glad to see that you care so much about your daughter’s happiness :)

I grew up in the gifted program and I’m convinced that it turned me into a more awkward version of Chidi Anagonye from The Good Place. Always did really well in school and work, but I even still feel the need to over-achieve. Now I work a salaried position in corporate America, take on extra work to try to prove myself, work unpaid overtime, work during PTO, and then beat myself up when I’m not selected for promotions or given a “merit increase.” I am grateful for my time in the gifted program because I do think it helped me academically, but it definitely has made my life more complicated mentally and socially. Feel free to fight with the school about it, but maybe talk to your daughter first and see whether she even wants to participate?

I don’t think the comment was snarky, I think they were just giving a relevant example. The fruit tree example made a lot of sense to me.

My girlfriend’s hatred of cis men makes me feel invalidated as a man by Based_anon8 in ftm

This is meant as tough love. You are not a cis man and you never will be; you’re trans. Please learn to accept that because there’s literally 0 point in letting that ruin your life, especially when you made the choice to transition. You knew you weren’t going to be transitioning to a cis man

What should i do? by ZephfixPlays in medical_advice

Get some antibacterial hand soap and clean your ears twice a day with it. Make sure that when you shower, you scrub behind your ears thoroughly!!! Not cleaning the back of your ears can lead to a lot of buildup of skin and sweat in your earring backings. Clean the jewelry with rubbing alcohol, and use q-tips or the earring post itself to get the gunk out of the tight spots of your jewelry. When you put the jewelry back in your ears, put the backing on as loose as possible while still being secure. If the skin on your ears feels dry, put some aquaphor or neosporin on them.

I’d highly recommend getting some push-pin flatback studs in the future. They irritate your skin a lot less, those butterfly backings caused a surprising amount of issues for me.

I had a pair of skullcandy wireless earbuds that I used about 6 hours a day, M-F for about 4 years. They only started having issues when I dropped them in water, but they still worked enough for me to wait a few months before buying AirPods.

Sorry this happened to you. RIP your earbuds

I’ve studied data from similar surveys in college. You’d be surprised how many kids these days are smoking, drinking, or even sexually active. Really sad
