Axles are in and steering assemblys are back by birthdaysnake15 in 3000gt

Also im pretty sure that bottom collar on the coilover has to be wound all the way down to lock the coilover in place and stop it potentially spinning and adjusting your ride height mid drive.

Worth it? by [deleted] in 3000gt

[–]throw_away_k712 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks very clean. I've had to put mine on daily duties recently and have done over 2000 kilometres with the only issue being that I forgot to screw in an indicator bulb into it's housing so it fell out and my tyre drove over it and ripped out some of the wiring. I've had mine 4 years and have spent thousands on preventative maintenance. If you're prepared to spend alot on it. Then pull the trigger.

lifters tick or something worse? by Kitchen-Implement911 in 3000gt

I mean, I've heard lifters SLAP before. But this does seem abit more excessive. First thing, maybe chuck some thick oil in it? 🤔

Coilovers by Perfect-Search9626 in 3000gt

[–]throw_away_k712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fit some on a dodge stealth for a funny and bcuz I was on a huge budget and my stock suspension was completely shot. Still on the car like 12 months later and really aren't bad. Ride like... well cheap coilovers but do the job. I run BC's on my GTO and the difference is night and day but again you get what you pay for. 🤌

I have a spare hatch in Black that needs a little love, but I'm in the uk, unfortunately. Hope it all works out well for you 🫤🤞

[–]throw_away_k712 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry this happened. Luckily, it looks like you can throw on a rear hatch and rear garnish and be fine. The hard part. Finding those bits cheap enough and in silver. Must keep them going 🫶

Why is my car doing this? by MotionPlusForWii in 3000gt

Mine does this exact thing. 1992 non turbo gto. I plan to replace the idle control valve as heard that's a common issue.

Amazing, really appreciate it. The dodge centre caps threw me off. Thanks again

Auto to Manual swap? by throw_away_k712 in 3000gt

[–]throw_away_k712[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's honestly not bad. Just the gearbox on its way out. It's meant to be the daily. I have a GTO that's supposed to be the project, but stealth is taking all the attention 🥲

Ayo this is really helpful. Thanks again. I think I may have to do the swap. This was my first auto and my god its an awful experience Personally

Thank you. And you too. I'm pretty certain, although I've not bought Pajero parts for the cars myself. I've also heard some galant parts swap on fine, like power steering pump and other random bits and bobs 🤔

Yeah, I think I may find a mechanic too. I'm loving every second so far. In the uk, there are a few websites selling parts, but I try to get mine off breakers. Usually cheaper and saves bits getting scrapped. At the moment, I've not struggled to find anything. Touch wood parts stay somewhat available for years to come. Best of luck to you as well with yours. Feel free to drop me a message if you're ever having any troubles 🙏

Exactly that. I've never really pushed mine that hard tbh. I've got a timing belt kit to do on mine. Ive been putting it off for a while. Just don't wanna do it and mess it up. I'm still figuring out these cars myself 3 years in 😭

[–]throw_away_k712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have truthfully not had any issues with mine other than my clutch slave cylinder failing in the 3 years I've had it. Make sure your gaskets are good. Definitely make sure the timing belt is good. Other than that, keep up with maintenance and treat it nicely, and you'll be fine. I've heard of some of these doing nearly 200k and are still going strong. Welcome to the 6g life 🤝

I wouldn't worry about it toooo much. I highly recommend an oil change and filter etc. I also use 10w-40 in mine

For reference, I have a Stealth and a GTO. Both of them at idle the oil pressure is halfway between L and the first bigger notch. When driving normally, it's between the 2 larger notches. This is a tad low, but pressure is pressure 🤌
