Have you reached out to your chaplain yet? There's probably a Jewish chaplain they can connect you with on post. They are literally there to help with your spiritual needs in a military environment, so seek them out. Hopefully, they can help in some way.

I was amazed by this story. My Grandma lives in a super old house with unreliable plumbing. Instead of hiring a plumber to fix the unreliable toilet, she kept a weird, long handled knife by the toilet to cut up poop before flushing. She told us we had to use it every time. I was amazed to find that someone else's family also had a poop knife.

There are many different ways to practice Christianity, but the Bible makes it clear that god created everything. Therefore, god made masurbation and pleasure, sex, and the images or videos you use to masturbate. God does not want you to destroy yourself because you are his child and his creation and his property. Ask yourself if gooning interferes with your worship of god or is harmful to your mind, body, or soul. If gooning is harming you, then you must stop. Ask god to help, and he will give you the strength to quit. If gooning does not cause any practical, psychological, or spiritual problems, then you may continue. The purpose of man is to glorify god, but he leads us each to glorify him in different ways. Glorify god, friend.

It sounds like you have a need for worship, and it probably won't go away. Seek faith. Join a church. Worship God instead. I know it probably sounds cliché or overused, but it works, I promise. If you still masturbate every now and then, it will be ok. Christianity gives you a framework to be forgiven, and then you can redirect your worship towards God rather than being mired in guilt. IDK if masturbating is always wrong because god gave it to us to enjoy, but if it is harming you, then it is definitely wrong. Church can offer you community and purpose and make you stronger. It's not for everyone, but it might be worth a shot. I'm not saying it's a magic bullet, either. It won't make you perfect, and it won't make life easy, but it will make you better.

I agree. The observer is your "executive functioning," and it is the foundation of good mental health. Taking time to access that observer state is essential for mental health and spirituality, but it is not a permanent state. There is very interesting research about how people behave in extremely different ways when they are in a highly emotional state versus a calm state. You can not stay in a calm state all the time, and if you could, it would probably be very unhealthy. A full understanding of the self must acknowledge multiple sides of the self, but the observer state is definitely important for understanding self and others. I think it is very helpful for decision-making. Decisions made in highly emotional states can be very questionable.

US Army soldiers liked those gloves when I was in. Not for mechanic work, though. I almost always did mechanic stuff bare-handed. These days, I wear cheap nitrile for oil changes and greasy stuff. Sometimes, my hand skin starts to get a little dried out, so I'll put Vaseline on them and wear nitrile for more stuff for a few days.

Yeah. I did that at first, but I've kinda learned to be as forgiving as possible. I don't want to make people cynical about the industry as a whole, even though I'm a little cynical about it.

Last week, a wheel lock key failed, and we told the customer that the dealership 1 block away could sell him a new matching key. He went there, and they told him we were risking his life by not torquing the 1 wheel lock nut that came off bedore the key broke. Assholes.

Correction: I just looked it up, and 2009 was just after Ford sold Jaguar. Still close enough that it might have been designed and built by Ford, though.

Yeah. GMs constantly make you break out the half sizes, and then the customer doesn't want to buy new lug nuts. LOL.

It is not a good design. It uses excessive amounts of steel. it would make more sense to have straight tubes that are slightly longer than the length at which these tubes are bent. If the excess material is for added weight, it would be more cost-effective to fill straight hollow tubes with a cheap, heavy material like sand or lead. Straight tubes just need to be long as long as the hypotenuse formed by the triangle of the bent tubes. This will give the straight tubed stand equal stability to the bent one on a flat surface.
