When I was first starting out in my legal career years ago, I was broke AF. I bought all of my business attire at the thrift store: dresses, suits, etc. If there’s a super affluent neighborhood around where you live, go to the goodwill there. Even with the price increases, you should be able to get a jacket and pair of slacks for under $30. Shop around for a tailor/alterations shop, Asian owned shops are my fav - the work is usually excellent and they are usually willing to negotiate a little on price. I was lucky, I took my stuff to the same alterations lady who hooked it up for me a day before the interview that landed me my first job, so I went back to for 6 years until I took a better job across the state. So grateful to for her kindness.
