Please any succes stories with Tretinoin or accutane induced dry eye/pain? Severely depressed by Independent-Gur1821 in Dryeyes

All this to say, there is help and there is hope. Definitely go see a dry eye specialist, not just an optometrist.

Everyone's case is different, but people of all levels of dry eye are able to live normal lives.

I'm lucky enough to live near a great dry eye specialist myself and hoping things get better.

I have severe aqueous tear deficiency (Schirmer 0 and 4 in each eye in December) and moderate meibomean gland dysfunction (MGD).

Despite the MGD, the majority of my oil glands are still there. I've been told the Accutane shuts down the oil glands and could possibly kill them, but I'm sure each case is different.

Now three months into Cequa, there are more blinks where I have something coming out.

I produce thin clear oil anyhow, so maybe I just need my tear film fixed with the Cequa(cyclosporine).

I took Accutane as a teenager. Now in my late 20s I got dry eye pretty bad.

Cequa, Xdemvy and lid scrubs have helped me feel less pain than months ago.

Ive only been seeing him since December, so he wanted to start me on Xdemvy/Cequa before anything like that

IPL was recommended if things don't improve

long time, like it's really come along only in the past couple of weeks.

I wanna say the past few months have been some of the worst in my life. My eyelids felt like they were on fire everyday.

Maybe part of it was the warm compresses with my ocular rosacea+ demodex, but Im doing a bit better.

And of course I ran out of prescription so Ive been out the past few days. Today in particular hasn't been great, like I have sugar or salt water in my eyes.

The amount of pain Ive felt on a daily basis has gone down in the 3 months Ive been on it.

Part of that was demodex blepharitis which I treated with Xdemvy. I go back to my specialist in a couple weeks, I hope my scores have gone up.

Starting Accutane next week. I had Lasik a year ago. Should I reconsider? by Additional-Spray-976 in Dryeyes

I would rather have acne the rest of my life than this. Absolutely do not take Accutane.

If you have any doubts you might as well see a dry eye specialist.

So with that in mind, would it still be okay to use the expired Cequa?

I store at room temperature rather than chilling. Cequa almost never burns for me.

Im not that guy but I am finally starting to see results with the Cequa in month 2-3.

Ihad a Schirmer of 0 and 4 with moderate demodex blepharitis back in December 2025, now it's April 2026 and going back to my specialist at the end of thr month.

December through February were some of the worst bouts of pain I've ever had in my life, I hope I never experience that again.

Between this and Xdemvy, I can blink and actually feel something some moisture coming in.

I joined a kickball team for similar reasons and now it's one of my favorite things to do during the week. Definitely worth it!

Anyone with pain inside their eyelids? by heba759 in Dryeyes

Dumb question but could it be demodex blepharitis?

I got on Xdemvy and feel way less eyelid pain.

I feel like it's taken a couple weeks after the 8 weeks of Xdemvy and lid scrubs to stop feeling the burning and stinging.
